I did my max only because my truck needed it done so I did both. The max had 27K and so this was even a bit early.
Unless the brake fluid is dark and stale or you see that its turned to water, I wouldn't even touch it. Never had a problem on any of my vehicles.
My 02 Max I never even changed the fluid and it looks decent.
