Vehicle Information Display below speedo
I started my Max yesterday and noticed the Vehicle Information Display was not working in my 2012 S. Anyone else have this problem? Are there any separate realys or fuses that are tied to the display?

Probably a long shot but you could try this self diagnostic mode to see if it gets things going.
SELF-DIAGNOSIS MODE
• Odo/trip meter and information display segment operation can be checked in self-diagnosis mode.
• Meters/gauges can be checked in self-diagnosis mode.
OPERATION PROCEDURE
1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2. While pushing the odo/trip meter switch, turn the ignition switch ON again.
3. Push the odo/trip meter switch at least 3 times within 7 seconds after the ignition switch is turned ON.
4. The unified meter control unit is turned to self-diagnosis mode.
• All the segments on the odo/trip meter illuminate.
Dots in all segments of information display LCD (1) flash alternately.
NOTE:
If any of the segments are not displayed, replace the combination meter.
The information display is part of the combination meter also known as instrument cluster. If the rest of the instrument cluster is working fine than all the wiring and fuses and easy stuff such as that would probably not be the problem.
The FSM does not provide much information about the information display. It only shows that it is part of the cluster.
About the only thing you can do is see if you can reach the back of the cluster and make sure the connection between the cluster and the information display is secure. Probably would need to remove the cluster to do this. Except that someone removed their cluster a few weeks ago and could not get his gauges to reset properly so you have to be careful with that. Other than that there is probably no easy fix. Most likely you will have to take it to the dealer where they would probably suggest replacing the instrument cluster all together.

snap 2 apps
Thanks Nopike. Tried the self diagnostic test, wipers went on, lights flashed, etc. but no display. After that I figured I may as well see if there are any fault codes so I hooked the scanner up and didn't have any stored in the ECU. I'm afraid of ruining the needle calibration if I take the cluster out so I'll just take it to the dealer and post what the solution is, hopefully this is covered under warranty as I just bought certified about a year and a half ago. Thanks.

That is really odd the display just went out. I had my 6th gen for 9 years and the display never once even flickered now I have seen many people complain about this in their 7th gens. What's really going on? Is this just the orange/black display or the color display as well?

Strange, just purchased my 2014 SV brand new from the dealer last saturday and i noticed mine would turn off/on by itself. i lost function of it for 2 days and it turned itself back on as i was driving to the dealer to get it looked at. after i picked it up again the info display blanked again after dealer guys couldn't find out the issue.
so did everyone just get their clusters replaced?

Information Display Light out
Can you please share what it was that they did replace in this situation? 2 Dealerships and they don't know of this problem and don't know what it would take to fix it.

It's actually a pretty easy fix.
Repair of Nissan information display in center of gauge cluster.
