Morimoto HID Problem

I'm in the process of installing a kit on my '12 Maxima, but when I turn the lights on, they only flash and then immediately go off. What am I missing? Thanks.

I'm using the full setup including XB35 ballasts, HD relay harness, and XB35 bulbs.

I reversed the input to the relay from my oem wiring, and, lo and behold, the driver's side now works; however, the passenger side still flashes and immediately goes off. There's no way I can think of to reverse the wiring on the passenger side. Reversing from the ballast won't work, and there's no way to reverse the igniter. Any help is appreciated.....I'm 1/2 way there.

More than likely the ground isn't good enough for the ballast if it's the same one causing the issue. I scrapped around the area where I put my grounds just in case they weren't getting good enough contact.

I relocated the ground several times, and tested the light without being grounded. Didn't work at all without ground, and same initial flash while grounded regardless of location.

Swapped ballasts - no change. Re-plugged relays in other side - no change.

Although it's mounted correctly per the Retrofitsource info, all is mounted on the driver's side with the remainder of the relay harness running to the passenger side's ballast. Nothing is connected to the passenger side's OEM headlight connection.

Did you try calling them? they are pretty good at helping people out, and if you live in Georgia they will even look at it for you. I've been to their shop before and they are very helpful people. I am assuming you purchased it from TheRetrofitsource

So, after playing around for 6+ hours, I determined that the 35xb light connector had separated form the cable. With that, it wasn't making a connection to one side of the igniter. After reconnecting and applying electrical tape. All is working. Thanks for the replies.

I went with the 6K's, great improvement.
Now I want to do the lenses, wondering how difficult that is...

I got them sitting on my desk waiting to install them. Probably going to be a spring project along with getting the bumper repainted. If you are comfortable with removing the bumper and baking your headlights, it's not that hard at all. Just give yourself a good amount of time and do some searching around the threads. There was a member who did a full tutorial on the clear lens mod but his pictures have gone missing.

If you have a big enough oven and an aluminum cookie sheet, it's really not that hard. Just make sure you have the tools before you start. There are directions all over this site on how to do it.
