Strange things happen : outside temp wrong. Green plastic cap fall down from dash

Hi, Last friday my auto climate indicate around 20C less than reality (25C) and after I noticed that the cruise control light blink and I cannot set the cruise control On. ( I had a 300km highway ride to make that day with my 2 month long hurting right knee )

The day after everything is normal ! but in the afternoon coming back from the grocery some plastic cap fall from inside dash to my foot. I don't know what it is for.

300,000 mile trip? That's a lot of potty stops. I went out and crawled into the drivers foot well as well as I could but couldn't find any green cap. I didn't see everything under the dash as I am not a limber as I once was in my younger years.

I too would like to know what the cap is for... I recently removed the lower panel to install a remote start. The same green cap fell down.

FWIW - Everything on the car is working perfectly. (except these crappy run flat tires)

News Updates !

Went to the dealer because yesterday morning the buzzer continuously buzz. So he dismantled the left underside dash and found water leaking causing shorts and corroded wires, contacts on the fuse panel or something else ( I have to clarify this ). He will check if the water is coming from the firewall or sunroof drain.
As for the green cap maybe it is for covering a endless screw on the steering column.

So today I have a loaner for free ( Versa 2016 )

I'll keep you updated
