Long distance parking gripes
Is it just me or have you guys seen that even when you attempt to park far away on purpose in the Max people still like to come way out of the way and park right near you anyway .
It would be different if I were the jerk who parked all in multiple spaces.....but I don't. I park in my space far away and they still won't leave me alone out there! What gives?

some people are just asshats, I knew a guy who drove a beater and would purposely park next to expensive or nice cars just to **** off the owners, he would make a point to find the car parked far away and park super close to almost make the drive have to enter through the passenger seat. He would get a kick out of it. I told him one of these days you will do it to the wrong person, he would just laugh.

It's called the Jones Beach phenomenon. You go to the beach early find a spot away from everybody else. People come to the empty beach and instead of spreading out, plop down right next to you. It's a verifiable phenomenon.

I fought this problem with both my 1985 Maximas and with every generation Maxima since. I usually park as far away from the mall as possible - like seven hundred feet away, but often return to my car to find a rust bucket right beside it, with the next thirty parking spaces closer to the mall completely empty. All I can figure is that it is a combination of factors already mentioned in this thread.
This reminded me of a guy who worked at my office back in the seventies. He would get in the fast lane of the freeway, find a slower car in the middle lane, and cruise right beside that car until he reached his exit thirty miles later. He would brag about how frustrated the drivers behind him would get. He never understood why I never smiled as he was bragging about this.

Parking closer together keeps the thieves away.....when your all alone its easier to not be noticed and they like that....when ur next to other cars theirs more of A chance they will go for another.....might not be what you think lol

Someone's trash is another's treasure. Maybe his vehicle (no matter what condition) is like your Maxima to you. And he's talking about how he did a photo day at the mall with another enthusiast on the forums he's on. Hey you never know

Even on local roads here in middle Georgia, when there is often only one lane in either direction, with no passing zones, there always seems to be long 'trains' of traffic everywhere I go, each caused by a very slow driver blocking everyone who wants to move somewhere near the speed limit. I don't feel as much fun driving as I did in the 1940s through the 1970s, when traffic was lighter, and one could actually 'drive', instead of simply following the pack like another sheep.
