my 2013 nissan maxima makes noises once I turn it off and yes I am aware that engines make noises once they cool off but it seems to make it as soon as I turn ot off and soon after, they seem pretty loud and its kinda worrying me since my last car didnt make them and my partner's acura's v6.

 

What type of sounds?? The catalytic converter on our car makes loud popping noises after turning the car off. It's much louder when compared to my other vehicles but it's totally normal for the maxima. Unless your car is making a different type of noise I wouldn't worry about it.

 

My car sounds odd when the AC is on and I turn it off like the fan or something is turning off. It's normal as far as I know.

 

I know the noise you're talking about. It usually happens when you're running the A/C and you turn the car off; almost a whining sound on the right side of the hood. I think it's the compressor shutting down. Honestly, I try to turn my A/C off before I shut the engine off, and I try not to have my A/C on when I first start my car. It may seem silly, but it's probably PTSD from my dad constantly telling me "it's bad to start the car with the A/C on right away. This was years ago with a GM car, which I'm sure is not the same as the Nissan.

Thats correct the noises is from the AC Compressor turning off.. its like a whirring sound that sometimes lasts a couple seconds. Its no big deal you're not breaking anything lol
