Low Oil Pressure Light Came On

Hey everyone, sorry I've been M.I.A but I was on my way to work last night (I work 3rd's) and I noticed an oil icon was showing on the dash instead of the temp. I parked once I got to work waited 9 hours and went to check the oil level. It's not low or opaque i.e. gunky, lumpy, solid, none of that crap. I haven't noticed any additional smoke coming from anywhere, but I have noticed the engine roars a little louder when I give it some gas. The RPM doesn't go above 3 really because I don't have to slam on the gas that often, my work commute is 95% highway. I didn't think much of it the other day (the louder roar) because when I get off work, morning shift rush hour is what I'm dealing with to get home. Any ideas on what would cause this, and how to fix? Is this something I need to be freaking out over? I checked the manual for the type of oil I should use, but if I added any I would be over. Is this an exaggerated oil change reminder? I'm 240 miles over what the estimate for my vehicle is. Current mileage is 37,757on a 2012 SV.

If you are talking about the icon that looks like an old style oil can then this indicates that you have low oil pressure. This warning is not designed to indicate a low oil level condition. Your engine is still under warranty, I would immediately get it looked at. Driving around with this warning light on will void the warranty.

Exactly where on the dash cluster is the icon showing up? In the informational display section right underneath the speedometer or underneath the tachometer? Just asking as there is an change oil reminder that comes up if you are over the miles driven limit. If this is the warning than you are OK, just get your oil changes. If its the other one as stated above then you have a serious problem.

I think it's a false alarm that came wait until next off day. I took a picture of the message.

Is this just a reminder to change the oil? I hope so.

Yes. Get the oil changed and reset the mileage for the next reminder then the icon will go away. Mine is set for every 5000 miles.
