with a minor door ding happening from some ******* in a parking lot being
careless for opening a door causing a ding which got me upset,,dunno whodonit
but can it be repaired without a major body work,,, if so would it look perfect
or show a slight scar ,,,did anyone get this resolved by a professional
ding mechanic,,the ding is the size of a small dimple but noticeable if looked

Yeah...I just got my door fixed for a similar issue. The body shop guy that I've gone to for over 30 years is just a guru...fantastically skilled. He examined the damage, told me the ideal way to fix it was to re-skin the door, for about $800.
Or...
He'd pull the dent out and repaint the damaged area only, blending it in carefully for $255.
I chose the latter. The repair is invisible...like it never happened. BUT...it takes a truly skilled person to do this, or else you'll see the repaired area, ESPECIALLY on a door.

Unfortunately in my case, it was far more intensive. But in the case of the o.p., it'd definitely be worth a try.
