i just bought a 09max from an auction and I need to drop the trans so I was thinking of dropping the engine out and doing the trimming stuff if they still had the same issues as the earlier 3.5 Thanks in advance

 

If engine is out. I'd go ahead and change the main tensioner guide to the beefier cloyes one and get a new tensioner (unless you have the time to reset it yourself) . And do the water pump. Inspect the two upper tensioner guides too and change if necessary.
