Hi, I'm looking for advice and links to help connect a high level output converter to a no Bose audio package 14' Nissan Maxima S for amplifier and subwoofer. Not sure what speakers I should look at accessing or how to remove them or if I should go through the head unit. Any help for what wires to splice to from the head unit would be appreciative too. If I went to the head unit I feel I could tap into the power remote wire for the amplifier and run the wires along the same path but not totally necessary and looking for the easiest install. For now I have only removed the glove box and ran the power cable through the fire wall to the engine compartment which I found the help for from this amazing forum. ; ). Hopefully with some advice I can cancel a audio installation appointment if my busy work and child schedule allows me to get it all done by then. Unfortunately I don't think there is any discount for finishing half the work and I felt so close after getting through the firewall yet so far away again concidering most or all of the information I am finding is in regards to Maxima's with the bose and factory amplifier which mine does not have. Major regret I did not request that from the dealership at the time of purchase. Thank you for any help or links and glad to be a new member to the Forums.

 

What worked for me when I was wondering the same thing was tapping into the rear deck speakers because they are easy access thru the trunk.

 

When I installed my amp and subs I tapped into the rear speakers behind the rear headrests. If you fold the rear seats down and remove the trunk lining near the speakers, you can get to the wires easily. After I tapped the two rear speakers I just ran the speaker wire to where I was planning to mount the converter. For the remote wire I used on empty fuse slot in the fuse box underneath and to the left of the steering wheel. I used a test light to see which of the empty slots went live when the car was on and was dead when you shut the car off. For the firewall, the car's main wire harness runs through a hole behind the driver side strut tower. I removed the air filter cover and had enough room to poke a hole and snake the power wire through there. I can post pictures if you or anyone else needs.

All in all, I was able to install the amp without touching the radio or dash for that matter and it was relatively easy compared to other car's I've installed amps in.
