It really doesn’t matter, just buy the least expensive one that meets your needs and has the best warranty.

There are only three major automotive flooded battery manufacturers, four AGM battery manufacturers and four deep cycle manufacturers in the U.S.

Regardless of the brand, you’re likely gonna get the same battery.

I was told by an independent battery only store that Optimas are not good. They had a pile to prove it. I didn't listen, bought a red top and it didn't last 6 months. Still, there are plenty of satisfied customers. My cousin got many years from his red top. As the saying goes, your mileage may vary.

I recommend getting the highest reserve capacity and CCA in your group size. Buy it from a store convenient/close to you.

Not sure what the continuous RMS is on that amp how you have it set up (1, 2, or 4 ohm load?)...a 1500w load @ 12v = 125 amps and the alternators in these cars is what...90 amps? So, if you're running along with the sound cranked up, you'll soon run out of juice even with the car running. And remember...the alternator output is often far lower at only 2500 rpm or so.

Stock 7th gen alternators are 130 amp. Music loads are never constant draw at full power. Dynamic load will peak occasionally but a decent battery and stock alt will be fine for him. Never really had a problem up to around 2kW on stock electrical in my experience, even with old cars. Sure, headlights dim and things happen, but that's just the nature of car stereo. I've pushed two JL 15 W3's to 153db in an old Honda Passport on stock electrical. Now 2, 3, 4, and 5kW systems require mandatory electrical upgrade.

Specs in pics, OEM 7th gen alt:

I had a red top on my stock maxima and it died months after the 3 year warranty expired. I didnt even realize it had only a 3 yr warranty. get a battery with a 5 year warranty.

Two evenings ago, I paid Autozone about $170 to replace the Group 78 battery in my wife's car.

With the same 3 year replacement warranty plus an additional 2 year pro-rated warranty the Walmart Everstart units are looking pretty OK at about $94.

Everstart batteries are good. I have had a few. I still have one from 2011 that works. My only gripe is they aren't always in stock.

Well, it all depends on the weather where you live and drive. For us folks down in South were it is warm/hot most of the year, Interstate and (in my case) Diehard Platinums. My 09 Max has had 2 Diehards (now at 422,324 miles) which tolerate the heat well. I had interstate batteries in my bride's old jeep grand cherokee that went thru 2 of them in 10 years too. (also in the heat all its life)
