My wife's 2009 Maxima has the factory Nav which has been updated at least once by the dealer. Nav version displays in the car as "14-15YEAR". The web shows that you can purchase an update ie. code to take to the dealer for $79. It is Version 8.8 per the web site. Unfortunately, there is nothing on the web indicating the date/timing on this version. Code is non-refundable.

Has Nissan released a map update that is more recent than the "14-15YEAR" I currently have?

If the Nav was updated by Nissan, ask them to check history for the version that it was updated to. Just call or ask in person about the details of the Nav update.
