DIY: Engine Torque Strut replacement.
I had a noise coming from the front passenger side of my car one day. I thought it might be a failing belt tensioner so I took it to my local shop to have them diagnose it further. It turns out it was the engine torque strut, it was visibly cracked and the noise got louder the faster I drove and when I revved the engine. The shop estimated it would cost about $200 for parts and labor. I have 3 other vehicles at my disposal so I said I'd get it done later. A quick YOUTUBE check and I found a video on how to do the job myself, I found the part on several sites but bought it from a Nissan dealer on eBay for $24.75. I watched the video and saw that I only needed to buy a 18mm socket because I didn't have one. The part came at 1pm on Wed and by 3pm it was on the car and I was on a test drive. No more noise and I ended up saving myself roughly $170 dollars by doing it myself.

BronxSleeper,
I checked my maintenance records and I paid $24.75 for the part that I bought on eBay. I don't suspect it was OEM but I can tell you it was the correct part number, (that the tech in the video said) and that it fit with no problem. Like I said in my post, I'm fortunate to have several cars at my disposal and now that I drive the Maxima everyday now I don't have any complaints with the part.
The part right now seems to be listed by a few places on eBay for $25 up to $87 dollars, I bought the cheaper part and it's working great and my car has 161k miles on it.
