Replace dash on 7th Gen?

Hello,

Gen 7, 2010 SV.. 85,000 miles... melting dash syndrome...

Has anyone replaced their dash on a Gen 7? If so, how complicated was the operation?

Also, the part is 68200-ZX70A, but it is discontinued. Any idea on how to secure one?

Thanks!

Go to a self-service salvage yard, preferably up North. On my 6th Gen the sun even cooks the bezel/vent assembly around the radio screen, Taking one out at the salvage yard will teach you how to change the one in your car. My bezel/vent assembly came out of a car in Manitoba.

So you figure north to escape the humidity that creates the problem?

Also, what kind of duration were you looking at for disassembly and did you notice any point of no returns (IKEA style manufacturing - you can put it together once, but you can't take it apart and reinstall it)?

Your best bet is a junk yard. It's a decent amount of work. You need to remove the radio, glove box, cluster, and drop the steering column. And make sure you put the gear shifter in drive (and put on parking brake/something in front the wheels) so it's not in the way when you pull it out. There's a stubborn screw on the passenger side by the vents that you might need a swivel socket to get to since it's so close to the windshield. Disconnect the battery since you'll be messing with airbags. You can look up the g37 dashboard removal on youtube, it's a similar dash & process.
