How much did you pay? *new car shopper*
Just picked up a 2017 Platinum for a base price of $36,657. With WA State taxes and minus a $3,000 rebate, I ended up $38,275 out the door. I know it may be a lot, but WA State is a horrible place to buy a new car! Regional Pricing and 10.4% tax make it much more expensive than anywhere else.
Been staring at the Maxima since the 8th generation redesign. My second car (in 1998) was a 1987 Maxima. My first stick too. We've been saving for a new house that we bought last month and on Thursday, I bought my 2017 Super Black Platinum. Out the door I paid $39,000. A few grand below invoice, so I was happy. Only 14 miles on it too. And they threw in free tint (35%). I frickin love this car!!!
Owned a Maxima around 1998-2002 or so. Tomorrow picking up a silver SL with the rear diffuser, floor mat package and trunk mat and splash guards. Car is new. Traded in a 2013 Tundra and paid $1,000 on top so very little sales tax.
Paid $30,200.
Paid $30,200.

Picked up a pearl white 2017 SV a few days ago with the appearance package; platinum rims, spoiler, diffuser, rocker moldings, and kickplates for 30k before dealer fees, 31k before taxes. Came with tint all around except for the windshield and hood, fender and door film
The discounts from MSRP were amazing last week. The car we bought less than a week ago MSRP'ed at just under $39,000 and dealer was offering it for $30,250. Today I checked their web site and the same model car and options was $33k and change.
Thats just crazy fluctuations.

All,
Thanks for sharing the information contained throughout this thread, the level of detail you folks provided certainly helps as additional data points when making an informed purchase decision. Time to give back to the community a bit with the details of my recent deal...
Just took delivery of a '17 Maxima SR which included the following factory options; the six piece Sport Floor Mats/Trunk Mat/Trunk Net kit, Splash Guards and the Illuminated Kick Plates . MSRP for the vehicle including destination was $39,500.
With the additional $1000 4th of July holiday incentives in my area (Chicagoland northwest suburbs) I was able to negotiate what is essentially an OTD price of $32,900 which included taxes (7% in my area), doc fees and license plate transfer fees. The whole shooting match...
I say "essentially $32,900 OTD" because the color/option mix of the car I was looking for was not available in my dealers stock. I wanted Coulis Red with the Charcoal interior and only Blue and Black were in stock with the options I was looking for at this particular dealership. The dealer wound up having to locate a car with my desired colors and options from another dealer which wasn't exactly nearby. In order to locate the car and get the car here on a flat bed truck and available for delivery by July 5th, I agreed to an additional $200.
So, my actual OTD price was $33,100.
This was for a cash sale and there was no trade-in to complicate matters...
Hope this info is helpful for others.

I just bought my Maxima SL . MSRP was $39075 before taxes . I got it down to $35000 flat, out the door. But the dealer said I had to use Nissan Financing, and were offering 3.89% APR, my credit union gave me 3.05% APR with 3 payments skipped. I then opted for 0% APR from Nissan , but no cash back so $38000 flat out the door.
--- Credit union $35000
--- Nissan @ 0% $38000
I wasn't going to pay it of early so I would've paid around $40000 if I used the credit union. At 0% I saved $2000 and get a eternity to pay for it
72 months. Really happy with the car.
I am in Texas, if it helps anyone.
Includes:
- 3M around doors, bumper, trunk
- GAP Insurance
- Tire/Wheel Protection <-- if you use it right, its worth it
- Illuminated Door Stills
--- Credit union $35000
--- Nissan @ 0% $38000

Kind of mind blowing how much the price increased over the last 6 weeks, especially since we are at the end of the model year.
Our SL was priced at $30,200 before we negotiated, now the same dealer is selling the same model 6 weeks later for $34,000.

My dealer still shows incentives of around $9,000 off MSRP. Lemme know if you're willing to take a trip to NoVA and I'll put you in contact.
9k off, holy cow. I'm in Jacksonville Fla but that might be worth the drive. Unfortunately, still got to wait until November to pull the trigger. I'm being tough on myself, but I don't want to come in with any less than a 50% down payment.
If you have excellent credit (800+), you can just finance through someone like Lightstream. I did so, got 2% and was still able to take advantage of the rebate, which you forgo if you finance through Nissan. Even if I took 0% from Nissan, it was still a net win for me to take the rebate and finance at 2%. Just food for thought, as everyone's situation may differ.

I tried to have them removed, they wouldn't budge, so I then focused my attention on the bottom line (which is the only thing that counts for me). As we negotiated, they kept adjusting the Discount and the Trade Allowance lines upwards, until the bottom line dropped below $30k, which was my target walking in.
Sticker $ 41, 295. Sale price with rebates to include military: 36,602. I forfeited $2k in rebates to take the 0%/72 month financing.
This was the most frustrating car to negotiate and the selling dealership was my 5th dealer visit. The dealerships would publish a sales price but once we started figuring out the price, they would start down from the MSRP with eligible rebates. I would add up from the sales price which included a huge dealer discount after rebates. The dealer discount disappeared completely. We were thousands off.
I finally found a dealership that actually honored the advertised price. I wanted the Medallion package but ran out of dealerships that had one. I asked one dealership if they could do a dealer trade so I could get their hefty dealer discount, but that went out the window and they added thousands back on the price to do so.
I bought a red Platinum with the beige interior. The car is actually for my wife and the car is gorgeous!

I am currently looking into a 2017 Maxima platinum with the medallion package MSRP including destination is $43,085. I was able to negotiate the dealer down to $40,672 "OTD" includes fees and tax (6.875%) with 0%APR. The sale price is $37,000. Is the good deal or do you think I can do better?

$37,694. This is about 9.5% off MSRP.
32750 car
699 - dealer fee
995 - pdi
about 1556 in taxes/tags/license
added all together is 36 OTD.

So I break this down - I would say
if this is for 36mth's (1300 down is equal $36x36mnths = $1300)
So add the 36 plus 389 = $425 SR
So add the 36 plus 369 = $405 SL
What about taxes ? is that monthly include your taxes ?
I would have thought you could do better - with all the incentives
that are available ?
NMAC Lease Cash - Maxima
$4,450
Applies to: Platinum Sedan, 3.5 SL Sedan, 3.5 SV Sedan, 3.5 S Sedan, 3.5 SR Sedan

NMAC Captive Cash - National (previous Nissan Owner)
$500

Thanks for the input! The numbers given include all taxes and fees. The SR also has the midnight package.

Do you know that they have included all the Incentives ?
You know that 15k cost you more then leasing at 12K per yr?
Were you trading in a car or turning in a previous lease ?
I lease all the time and put down the smallest amount somewhere between 0 and 500.

Yes i drive approx 15K a year so i need it. Haven’t made the deal yet, but no trade or turn in of a lease. All incentives are included. Not such a good deal i guess?
