What dealer you went to? I'm also in Florida south Florida to be exact. I'm looking to getting a pearl white platinum.
Bill Ray Nissan longwood. They are going thru construction remodel but have plenty of cars on the back lot to get rid of. Wasn't looking to get new car. Was actually there to get my 2013 3.5sl oil change and brakes. Worked a deal while car was being fixed and out the door with my terms. I think I got s pretty good deal. They almost said no because I kept wanting more off. Lol! Overall I'm happy.
MSRP is what the manufacturer suggests the dealer to sell the car for. Invoice is what they "pay" for the vehicle. You can get close to or sometimes even below that as they also have holdbacks. Which is what the manufacturer gives the dealer for selling the vehicle. Plus also any incentives given to the dealer from the manufacturer for reaching a sales goal. All this helps when you go towards the end of the month as they are trying to reach sales goals. Depending on where they stand at the time you're speaking to them, would depict how much they would go below the invoice to just make units. They tend to do that more at end of month, much more at end of quarter, and even more at end of year.

Yes, I understand that. I've purchased many cars in my day at or below invoice, but never getting $7300 off. Invoice is usually a couple thousand give or take below the list price. Even at invoice, how does someone get another $5k off below invoice?
Nissan offered the 2014 leftovers for 8-10k off on many websites when I was looking. I know a 2014 SV SportTech sticker was 39 saw it online bunch of them for 30k or less. At the same time I went in a few times for quotes int he fall and was told MSRP or at most $1500 off. I think you need to find a dealer who wants to move the car you want, color combo trim how long its been on lot etc etc. etc. For $7000 off MSRP I'd pick up a platinum also- but dealers around here are showing 3k off at most.
I'll scan my paperwork shortly. It may have helped a little that my wife bought a brand new Murano at the same time. Not to mention this was our 5th vehicle purchase from this dealer.
Dealers within 100 miles of me were offering Platinums for $6500 off so they didn't want to lose my business and matched it. When I decided to get my own financing, they still ate the $500 NMAC rebate plus took another $300 off to meet where my finance company had to have the car price at. They weren't going to lose a deal over $300. My wife was able to get her Platinum Murano for $4800 off MSRP which was good considering there was only a $500 rebate.

Awesome! enjoy the new rides. Trying to get my Wife to look at the Murano, but she's not a big Nissan lover. She currently drives a 2014 MDX. She loves it, and I think it's just ok. I wish they offered the 19" SR wheels on the Platinum. Those wheels make the car. That's why I'm leaning to the SR. Still have a few months to decide.

Picked up a Platinum Pearl White last week. Sticker price was 42,700. Had a few dealer installed options (premium spoiler, splash guards, external ground lights, illuminated kick plates, floor and trunk mats, interior accent lights).
Talked them down to 34,600. Ended up being 37k OTD with the 1,500 manufacturer rebate. I think I did pretty well. Deals are definitely out there. I'm in Northern VA if that helps.

Thats awesome low- how did you get them to that price? Thats cheaper than I was quoted on an SL and about as cheap as an SL is now.

I brought in a price from a dealer I found online about an hour away. They had a Maxima with a sticker price for about the same, advertised for about 33k.
The dealer told me that price includes additional rebates I was not eligible for (recent grad, active military, owner loyalty) so they would match the price not including those. So they said a little over 35k. I found out the car I wanted had a couple hundred miles on it. I made a big fuss saying they were selling me a used car. Got them to knock off a few hundred.
I've been researching Maxima's in the area for a couple months and noticed that not that many have moved. I also have only seen a few on the roads. I think these dealers just want to get these off their lot and chalk it up to volume sales. Negotiating that price was a lot easier than I had anticipated. Almost to the point that made me double think it haha.
I'm currently in a Lexus lease they offered me the s at around 28000 but figured the SL was a better deal for 4 thousand more and in stuck on the black roof look
Hi All - I purchased my 2016 SL yesterday from Criswell Nissan in MD. MSRP was $38615 as the car had the floor mats/trunk net, interior lighting, exterior ground lighting, and splash guards. This forum was very helpful to me as I was shopping around, so I thought I'd post my "results."
Criswell added (at the dealer) wheel locks and Nitrogen (meet your new "undercoating" ladies and gentleman) to the tune of $250. This started negotiations from $38865. In the end, I paid $32,350 for the car including all fees. This included $1500 in rebates, and I used Nissan financing at 2.39%.
In addition, I traded my 2007 Ford Escape with over 150k miles for $2500. This put my out the door figure at $31841. I was pretty happy with the deal, especially since this was the exact car that I wanted, color/trim/options-wise.

Wow, these deals are getting big. The dealers must be getting some kickback from Nissan to move vehicles right now, even if they sell at a loss.

I heard from the finance manager that this is the case. He wouldn't say exactly how much, but he did confirm that the 2016 Maxima was largely overproduced vs. demand and that Nissan was chipping in to get them moving. I think they will start moving at these prices. I drove Volvo S60, MB C class, BMW 3 series, Acura, etc, and I considered the Maxima 2nd in "fun to drive" only to the 3 series. When I factored in the size of the interiors of those other cars vs. the Maxima, it was a no brainer to go with it. Plus, I wanted the advanced safety features, and the other brands have you well over 40k and approaching 50k in some cases to get them. I saved considerably but I don't feel like I compromised at all.
Also, in response to an earlier question about the financing, the 2.39% was for 60 months. That's only so-so, really. PNC bank will do 1.99% right now. I only went with Nissan due to $500 captive finance offer. Their "promotional" APR is 1.99% right now, and forces you to drop a $1000 cash incentive. The initial offer for me was 2.99%, and I had to negotiate it down to 2.39%. I have an 860 FICO score, for reference. Nissan needs to improve their rates, IMO they are marginally competitive. 1.99% is a joke as a promotional APR right now when you can get the same rate elsewhere.
I just started shopping around for a 16 Maxima Platinum in pearl white. I plan to do 60 months financing with their current 1.99% offer.
What do you guys think of this offer I got today?

Based on my very recent experience, I'd think you can get them to take another 1-2k off the price. Also, you forgo $1k of incentives to take their 1.99% promotional finance offer. You may be better financing through PNC which will also give you 1.99%. Financing elsewhere only requires you to give up $500 of the incentives. Alternatively, you can do what I did, which is to finance through Nissan but NOT with the promotional APR and negotiate to get the rate as low as possible. I was able to get down to 2.39% and keep all $1500 in incentives, which was the best financial outcome for me.

That's actually what I thought too, perhaps another 2k off would be great! I'll come back with updates.
I've posted this on Edmunds Maxima lease page as well, ps I am new here, thank you for having me - Marc turned me on to this page. I am headed down to a dealer in NJ for a 2016 Maxima SR Midnight Edition MSRP 40,245 advertised sale price 33,375 - hoping they will honor that price for a lease. I still have 11 payments of a vehicle I would like to roll in - let's see what happens - I think I know how this will go - sorry sir, we can't sell you the vehicle at that price...wish me luck - I probably should stay home!

No go at first dealer today, made the mistake of believing sales mgr who said he had sr midnight edition in stock, when i got there it was a platinum, still a very nice ride, couldnt get them to a lower than 35000 price which i need due to my current lease payments. Will have to wait a few months to get payments close to 400/month

I may ditch the idea of going with the Platinum and go with SL (pretty much the same car minus the around view monitor, home link, heated/cooled seats and a few other goodies) MSRP about 3k less than Platinum - probably would get my lease payments closer to where I want to be.

Eric - This was my logic as well. I didn't really care about the textured/patterned leather seats, and I figured that I could live without the around view monitor and the cooled seats. Now that I have an SL, I can say that the backup camera is very good, and the sonar is quite good even when parking front-way in. Basically, the corners of the car are well cared for by the sonar when parking. I'm sure that the around view monitor is awesome, especially for parallel parking, but the sonar does a pretty good job in lieu of it.
Thank you for feedback, did you lease or buy, and what did you negotiate the sale price to from what msrp? Can you estimate your monthly payments for me?

Eric - check out posts 298 and 309 above for all my information. I bought, and got about $6300 off MSRP (this included $1500 in Nissan incentives.) In addition, I got a very fair price for my trade, and financed through Nissan (non-promotional rate) at 2.39% for 60 mos.

I am looking at a demo unit pearl white platinum with 5000miles. Spoiler, splash guards, floor trunk mats included. MSRP 41500, invoice 39k.
After nogotiating with the manager, they offered 34k flat.
What do you guys think of this?
It may depend on the region you are in, but I would expect you can do better than 34k for a demo with 5000 miles. Many of the recent deals (including my own) are in excess of 6k off MSRP for brand new cars. Given that, I'd want at least 8.5k off MSRP for a demo. Just my two cents...
Found a deal for 2016 Maxima SL with floor mats, trunk net, trunk mat, and splash guards...I currently have 10 months left on current lease of 2014 non Nissan car (payoff $3500).
MSRP 38,125
Discounted Sale Price 30,874 (19% off MSRP)
Dealer to write me check for $3600 to payoff current lease. $1,650 Nissan cash and $2,500 from dealer = $4,150 cap reduction...Transfer of plates.
36 months / 12,000 miles per year
$500 down plus 1st month $415.27 = $915.27
(1 yr of oil changes)
$415.27 per month (including tax)
I know I should wait to pay more down on current lease but this is prob very tough to beat...pull the trigger???

This is a ridiculous price. They're giving you the vehicle for well under invoice, 3600 towards your current lease, and 2500 dealer cash. I would assume that this dealership is very close to their target number that they need to meet for quarter end and is pushing hard for numbers. I definitely would jump on this in a heart beat before they actually hit the number and pull back. You're pretty much getting a max SL for the price of a good deal on a Max S
EXCEPT...the monthly payments are definitely not adding up. With the basics, msrp of 38125, negotiated price of 30874, assuming a residual value of 57% to be 21731, and a money factor of 0.00125...your monthly payments should be about 240 plus tax. I would ask them for an itemized list of this deal. Seems that they're adding your payoff somewhere in this price. Unless I'm doing the calculations incorrectly, but I'm pretty sure something is up.
