How much did you pay? *new car shopper*

Purchased a 2018 maxima platinum trim with MSRP $42k. I opted for Carnelian Red.
Out of the door $41.5k
I was naive enough to have the dealer trick me into extended warranty, paint coat and gap insurance totaling to $3.5k. (It was my first car purchase. I am trying to follow up with the dealer to cancel these but they wouldn't budge)
Fees - destination fees 885$, VIN etching 299$ and Administration/Filing - 200$
In retrospect, I would have gotten a decent price if I did not opt for the extras at the dealership. Nissan consumer affairs could not get the dealer to budge on the cancellation. Lesson learnt! Will have to extra careful buying cars in the future.

New SR midnight edition
I just purchased a 2017 Maxima SR midnight edition for $32600 out the door. I bought it from the dealer 100 miles away in Lake city FL. They still have few 2017 platinums and SR's so if you are in the market I suggest you contact these guys, they were like 4-5 grand cheaper than everyone else in 300 mile radius.

2017 SL in Texas
I'm personally from Brownsville, Texas, I ended up going to Trophy Nissan In Dallas and got a NEW 2017 Maxima SL stickered at 40k for 30k out the door removing most fees, admitedly the 2018 models were already out in the first week of February, which made the 2017 that much cheaper, I also had to go with new as a requirement.

that's a decent deal. While the full warranty is almost expired, the power train warranty should still be good for a couple more years

I just purchased an SR last Thursday. It was a leftover super black 2017, unsold, discounted from just under $40K to $30K. Yeah, I bought it already, don't go looking for it. I had been looking for a few weeks and had gone to this dealership looking for a used 2016 SR in gunmetal but it was sold literally right before I got there. It was 24950 and only had 10K miles. A week later, same salesman was a cool guy, gave me a heads up the day before one of the new 17 SR's was to go on sale. Even told me the discount was a good $10K. Of course I bought it from him, he got the deal. This is my 6th Maxima since the 90s.

2017.5 Maxima Sr Midnight
I just literally purchased my car and I got it for a steal. I purchased the 2017.5 Sr MidnightEdition. The dealer actually had a salesman driving the car on demo. When I went to the dealership I wanted a black on black one. They only had white and blue. But assured me that it could be ordered. Then I said I was going to just drive out of town to get it. So the sales manager came out and informed me that they had one being driven by a salesman and would give me a great price. They called the guy in on his day off to bring the car and the rest was history. I paid 29,995 and 32,585 out the door for a car with a msrp of 40,560 it only had 1,467 miles on it. I'll never buy a brand new car again. If you can buy a demo you'll save thousands literally I did.

Leased my 2017.5 Platinum for 437/month All Inclusive (Wear and Tear package as well) with $1500 down and 12k miles. This deal may/may not sound that great depending on who you ask but to me it was awesome simply because they took care of 7 months of my previous lease ($384/month) as well as Disposition Fee.

What does everyone think a fair price is for a new 2017 SR midnight edition or a 2017 platinum. There's a dealer not too far from me who has a few of these left. They list the SR ME at $31k and the platinum at $32k.
Given that they're a year old already, would $27k for the SR ME be reasonable? I'd like ot get $30k OTD.

Hey guys brand new to the forum and i just bought a 2016 Maxima SR with 23k miles for $23.5k In San Diego CA. But after after all BS taxes and fees it came to a total of 26k flat and i put a down payment of 7k. Do you guys think that was a good price or should i have gotten a better deal? Mind you this is my very first time buying a car. There was also not alot of other 2016-2017 used maximas around my area. Thank you for your replies!

Used purchase
Just bought a Storm Blue 2016 SV today in Massachusetts. 26,000 miles on it. Clean carfax. still under warranties. Got them down to $18,500. Was originally listed for $22,000. Think I got a pretty good deal here. Can't wait to pick up tomorrow!

Dealer quoted me $550. Having being a loyal Nissan owner/lessee for the past 30 years with great credit, I laughed at them and told them not to insult me.

Update...communicated with the Internet Sales Manager over the past few days. Asked her for the best lease price they could offer me on an'18 Platinum. She had quoted me at $556 per month (MSRP was $42K plus)with 0 down last week. I did some research through my USAA car buying service who quoted $36K through an approved dealer of which mine is one. Well today I took my '16 Platinum in for routine oil change and maintenance. While waiting I asked to speak to her. She set me up with a salesman. They came back with a quote just under $500. I then detailed my research and they offered me rebates and discounts of over $7500, bringing the MSRP down to $35547. With 1K down that brought the monthly down to $460 with all taxes and fees included.. This is a '18 Platinum Carnelian Red with ground lighting, interior mood lighting, mats, splashguards. The original MSRP was just over $43K. They are holding the car for me for 48 hours. Being that my lease is up in September I think that I will jump for my 11th Maxima since 1987. I will hold out for the free oil tire packet too. Thoughts?

That is certainly better then there first set of lease numbers.
Doesn't it amaz you that they like to play games with the numbers.
You are putting down 1k ? if you devide the 1k by 36 month's you get
$27.77. now add that to the $460 = 487.77. So zero down would give you a payment of $487.77 per month. Personally I still think its high. The problems we face with lease's are many. Lets look at the residual value. Back when I got my 2016 Maxima Platinum the residual value was 53% today its 49%. So that a 4% loss that we the customer needs to cover in a lease payment. The other number is Money factor (or finace rate). That also has changed but not as bad as the residual value. 2016 Maxima was .00001 = .024%, now its .00003 = .072%. One other item i didn't include was the fact that the Platinum has increased in price by $1200. Yes you are going to have to pay more per month. So like you I love my Maxima. Don't like many other cars on the road today.
Don't want to increase my monthly buy to much. But it looks like I will have no choice if I want to stay with a Maxima.
Question what did they do with your last few payments. Nissan will eat your last two payments but anything above that will be aded in to you new lease.
Good luck !
Randy

Randy...they picked up two of the three remaining payments. I considered buying out the '16 but the monthly payments would be more than the new lease. Being that my company offers me a $400 per month car allowance, I would be in the new car for less than $100 per month regardless. The X factor however is my better half. She isn't thrilled with the color. Prefers the white which is what my last three have been. Of course, she says that it's my decision in the end, but we all know what that means. lol.
If you don't mind me asking what does your lease cost, and what part of the country are you in?

Currently paying $423 a month, that was with zero down and first month payment (2016 Platinum ).
Interesting I have been leasing Maxima's since 1995. Prior to the last lease Nissan would give you owner loyalty money towards your nest lease. They don't care anymore.
I suspect that if car sales continue to fall off as they have (Nissan down 28% in April-sold only approx 2000 Maxima's) Nissan is going to have to do something
with current owners ???

Yes the saleman was telling me that someone at Nissan jacked up the money factor last month and removed all incentives leading to the abysmal sales. Nissan stock plummeted. Thus they have the 0% financing this month.

Hey everybody. Looking to switch out from my 2010 to the new body style. The dealers in the area are basically taking 10K off the MSRP 2017. Im looking at a pearl white 2017 SV with black leather interior for 26500 with the only fees being tax, doc fee of 250 and plates.
Is this a good deal? I honestly can't tell. I was going to wait out clearance of the 2018s but I don't think I can wait that long.
Thanks for advice.

After some final negotiations this morning, signed a deal for a Pearl White "18 Platinum with mats, splash guards, exterior ground lighting, and interior mood lighting. MSRP was just north of $43K. Got it down to just under $36K with 1K down. Dropped my lease payment by $50 versus my '16. Take delivery on Wed. Maxima #11 for me!

Third pearl white in a row. For whatever reason, lease prices seem to be a bit higher up here in the Northeast. Final monthly is $450. Could have had the same car (same features) in Carnelian Red for $430 because it was on the lot. But prefer the white so they had to do a locate. It was funny how they really wanted me to grab the red because they said there weren't many white cars in the area. So I politely told them that I had done a search on Nissan USA and found 20 within 50 miles and that there were two (with my specific specs) at a particular dealer 40 miles away. As the Alan Parsons Band sang "Games People Play." Or should I say dealers. LOL.

2017 sr
Just got a brand new (57 miles) 2017 SR a couple weeks ago for 31K after taxes and fees, before trade-in and down. Once all was said and done I got it for 28k with a 10 year/100k mile bumper-to-bumper warranty. Another places wanted to sell me a 2018 SR Midnight for 33K before negotiation

A tornado went over the local Nissan dealership and the windshield, moon roofs, and some windows were smashed out. Insuarance made them liquidate all their stock and by law they had to replace all the broken windows for free. Wound up having a few scratches smaller than a half dollar after they replaced every thing.

Sounds like a good price. I'm looking at 2017 SV's in the Boston, MA area. There's a few SV's with about the same mileage and the prices are over 25K out the door for both.
