2017 SR Midnight edition, I got for $28,200 before taxes, memorial day sale. They also included a rebate that covered tax/title. I feel like I got a decent deal, but I'm also stuck with their 4% interest rate. Got screwed out of a second key fob bc they said they were looking for it and would send in the mail. Never happened, went through BBB, but "I never got in writing that they owed me".

What do you all think? Is $28,200 a decent price? This was my first Nissan, but I went all out with the SR Midnight with sport package.

Just purchased a 2017 Pearl White SR with spoiler and 9100 miles for $28000 yesterday in Dayton, Ohio. Probably not the greatest deal in the world, but it has really low miles and the options and color that I wanted.

Hey all. I got my local dealer down to $34k out the door on a 2018 SR midnight. My goal the part few months I've been watching this car was to get to that price, but my wife thinks it came too easy and I should keep negotiating. Do you guys think $34k OTD is a good enough deal?

Good deal! Refresh is right around the corner and you might be kicking yourself. Refresh or not. This design still holds very well today and looks good!

Plan on getting tint soon. Maybe an exhaust in the future, but not gonna do too much to it. I like the way it is.

2018 Nissan Maxima Platinum

Hello- noob here. I'm looking at a few 2018 Maxima Platinum models. I just spoke with an internet sales rep and they're quoting me OTD $35,730, which is 16.35% off the MSRP of $42,710. The only upgrades are:
  • Illuminated Kick Plates
  • Splash Guards
  • 50 State Emissions
  • Floor Mats/Trunk Mat & Trunk Net
How's that look? TIA!

Hi HeyGuyITsMe,

if it's new, or less than 10k miles... I think that is pretty reasonable (for OTD). I paid a little under 35k OTD for mine, it had 8k miles but EVERY extra you can get.

Assuming you have a fairly hefty sales tax included in that OTD price, it looks like a really good deal to me.

I recently purchased an '18 SR Midnight for $34,000 OTD and the MSRP was about $1k less than yours, so I'd say it's a pretty good deal. I like nice round numbers so I'd ask them to go to $35k even, but that's just me.

I've been looking out for a blue platinum 2017 with black interior for a few weeks now. Today I bought one with 24,000 miles on it.

Cost: 24,821
Fees: 282.55
Options: 995
Tax: 2561.76

Total: 28,660.31

Financed at 4.19 percent:

Out the door price = 31,817

I know the charge for "options" is very high, but I didn't mind too much because the starting price was very good compared to what I have been seeing over the last month (26 to 27k would be more in line with similar miles on a Platinum). As far as what was actually done, they tinted the windows and detailed the car inside and out. I know that doesn't add up to 995 but oh well. It's an Acura dealer and I felt I was treated very well compared to the many dealerships that I've been to in the last month so that's worth something to me too.

I couldn't get him to go any lower and the car just went up for sale so I'm pretty happy with the deal even thought the OTD looks crazy high. 9.6% tax doesn't help....

I almost pulled the trigger on another 2017 blue platinum for 26,999 with 12,000 miles on it but the dealer would only give me 5.9 percent financing.

In the past month I've test driven the following:

2016 Hyndai Genesis
2018 Camry Hybrid
2018 Camry
2018 Avalon
2018 Kia Stinger
2016 Dodge Challenger
2016 Lexus ES
2016 Hyundai Azera
2017 Infiniti Q40
and finally
2016 Nissan Maxima S

I test drove the Maxima last and honestly it wasn't all that close. The interior is so comfortable and just feels right, the handling and steering same thing, the acceleration is plenty for me, overall it just felt right - both in how it drove and how the interior was laid out/comfort.

Runner(s) up included the Stinger 2.0 and the Infinity Q40. None were terrible but at the same time none of them made me want to quit driving my car until I drove the Maxima.

I might have just bought the S but I have so many options on my current (about to sell) 2008 Hyundai Azera that I didn't want to give up. Seat memory, rain sensing wipers, rear sunshade, auto telescopic steering wheel, etc.

One thing I will miss about the S is that gray colored accent instead of the wood colored one.

Sorry for the novel, I'm excited to pick up my 3rd car in my adult lifetime. Drove a 96 maxima, then a 2008 Azera, and now back to a Max.

Cost: $38,228

Just posted at the first link below that I bought a new 2018 Maxima Platinum. The dealer gave me 21% off the MSRP -- which I thought was a hell of a deal. MSRP was $42,730, which was $40,940 base plus $395 for Premium Paint (Carnelian Red), $300 for Mats package (Floor Mats, Trunk Mat, Trunk Net, First Aid Kit) and $200 for Splash Guards. Was offered $9,018 off that, giving a net of $33,712. Not including state taxes (6.625%), only additional required costs were $449 for documentation and $89 for license transfer. I purchased multiple options, detailed in the post at the first link below. Very, very happy with this deal. FYI, the second link explains why I preferred the '18 over the '19 refresh.

No deal is ever a deal with the Maxima. It’s one of the worst for deprecation on the market. It loses $10-$12k in the first year alone and the second year is no better. This is why dealers can give deep discounts on them. They are practically throw away cars.

You know what worries me about deals like this. What if that car was problematic and the previous owner. Had the money to get out of something like that. It’s a good deal though if it works out.

I paid $30k OTD for a new 2018 SV, if that counts. So one step above base model.

Anyone get any deals on the 2019 Maxima yet? My 2016 SR lease is up soon and I just started looking around. Looking like the regular 2019 SR will be significantly more expensive.

I have a loaded Platinum coming early next month which stickers over 45K. I put 500 bucks down and do not have a firm price yet. Nonetheless if Nissan does not come up with a workable price/lease I am prepared to bail to another brand. There are just too many competing deals even in the Infinity , Acura , Lincoln sedans. Stay tuned.
