Don't mind at all. I wanted monthly payment in the $350 range so I ended up putting some money down to put towards a cap cost reduction, something I typically don't do with leases but I wanted to stay with Nissan and did not want another Altima at this time. Breakdown as follows:
MSRP $41,095
Selling Price $37,000
Money factor .00008
Residual 57% = $23,424
$359 Monthly Payment including tax. 12k/36 month lease
Cash due at signing: $3,500
Breakdown of cash due:
$595 Acquisition Fee
$599 Doc fee (Awful I know welcome to the state of CT)
$175 Reg/title
$359 First Month
$1,583 cap cost reduction
$189 tax on cash up front

I am from CT and while we do have plenty of fees, DOC fee is dealers way
to make money. Its not mandated by State.
You can try to fight it, but dealers view it as their god given right to make money with it.

Which dealer did you buy from?

Sounds like a good deal. You are paying $359 with $3,500 down payment. I am paying $465 with $0 down on my lease. Roughly equates to be around same price.

I leased from Middletown Nissan since both them and Harte Nissan had the color combo I was looking for and without any accessories. Harte did not want to even make an attempt to negotiate a deal and Middletown did so they earned my business.

Yes you are correct while some states cap the Doc fees that dealers can charge CT is one of the states that does not. I tried to ask for a reduction and they offered to reduce by $10 but I would have to register the car on my own. Yeah no thanks, I would rather stick ice picks in my eyeballs than visit the CT DMV!

Agreed.. Came down mouthy budget numbers after the dealer and I agreed on a selling price of 37K. I anticipate that selling prices will continue to fall but my lease was up and the money factor doesn't get much lower than .00008 so I felt it was a good time to pull the trigger. Came real close to leasing an Infinity Q50 base AWD though (great lease deals on those right now) but would have give up almost everything the Maxima Plat has to offer in terms of tech and other features. So happy with the Maxima!

Did you utilize the $1000 available rebate as well?

I don't think so. No where in any of my sales quotes was a $1000 rebate included. I was under the impression that the rebate was for finance purchases not leasing.
At least I hope that is the case..

I believe you can use it for both. Maybe I'm wrong, let's see if anyone else can share some insight on it.

using truecar.com, the 16' maxima platinum is coming out to be 35,566-35,866 before TTL. trend of the price is going down. maybe a good time to purchase?

i'm in CA, so after tax and license, 35,566 would be about 39,122.

I don't see any platinums that low near me, but 36-37 loaded platinums are advertised with the finance incentives added on etc.

did you try emailing a bunch of dealer the specs of the car you want to buy?
Typically, I contact 5-10 dealers via email asking for the best price on the car that I want to buy. Be as specific as possible without worrying about vin number or what dealer has in stock. Dealers will trade if they need to find a car for you. Since each dealer has their own goals, you wont find a dealer that will consistently give you a best price. Dont be afraid to look out of state. I live in CT and once bought a car in Maryland, 5 hour drive was worth the 4 grand savings I was getting.
good luck,
Max

i went and searched 3 out of states from where i'm in: Nevada, Utah, and Arizona.

California SoCal (my zip code) netted the lowest price. Nevada and Utah was very high, 37-38k before TTL and Arizona was about the same price.

Platinum White
Got a Platinum White this past Wednesday
- Interior lighting
- illuminated kick panels
- exterior ground lighting
- floor mats
- splash guards
- mount/balance new rims (I will provide)
- install sport spoiler (I will provide)
- last 2 lease payments and disposition fee waived
- I pay 2 months of lease for early termination
Sale price: $38,619
MSRP: $42,330
OTD: $41,726 after $1,500 NMAC incentive
They did tack on $399 for some theft etching on the window. I think it's BS but didn't have the patience to try negotiate it off. Anyone know what this is and if it is worth it?

I went to a dealership today after a sales guy told me on the phone he could get me a platinum at 35 to 36k otd. Of course I figured this would be a BS line (it was) but I figured what the heck. I am in no rush and I wanted to test drive the car again since the last time I did was back in july. Plus if they got to that number and the trade in was good enough I could get my payments to where they needed to be.

Anyways they were about 1k lower than where I wanted to be on my trade in. And they didn't come down enough on the car sales price. It was 36700 before ttl. Just sharing for info.

Thats not a bad price for the plat depending on options- most dealers around me are 3k then incentives (4k total) off most models...some are pushign 5k. but those dealer websites posted above showing 8-9k off seems unrealistic but awesome too.

Yeah it wasn't a horrible price by any means, but they were being incredibly pushy, talking about how this is the best deal the manager's ever given, it must be signed tonight, yadda yadda.

Really, the factors that swayed me out of it were that I want to get a quote on trade in from carmax, since they tend to offer more than dealerships (at least based on past experience and my girlfriend's recent experience with them) that I could use. And I want to talk to a few dealerships before committing to a sale.

This one was basically a stock platinum. It only had the floor mats and splash guards (which I don't even care for). They also had some BS window tint that was non existent (looked like the factory installed one) and paint protection, nitrogen in the tires, etc. package that they were charging 895 for which I said I wouldn't pay (they eventually took that off entirely from the price). I don't know - just felt they were nickel and diming the whole experience.

Just in looking last night, I've found a dealership about 45 minutes away that is offering 6k off MSRP on some of their platinums. It's almost the exact configuration I want with the exception of the interior being parchment colored. So I figure there's some haggling that can be done.

If u finance through Nissan Motor Acceptance Corp (NMAC) you get extra incentives. In this case, it was one for $1000 and another for $500. I plan on refinancing soon. The finance guy told me I had to wait till I make 4 payments. However, I couldn't find this anywhere in my contract. Could this be written somewhere in the fine print of the incentives?

That's what I always do. Usually takes 6-8 weeks, sometimes less.

Pricing as always, depends on the dealer. Mine does pretty well by me, as he knows he will have no capital cost in that vehicle.

New member from Western PA here. Just bought a 2016 SR base with no options except the mats or whatever comes with it (so MSRP 38940) for $34000 pre-tax after the normal rebate and 500 financing rebate.

Envious at the folks near DC that can get those SRs for 30500 - not sure how they can go that low.

I haven't seen SRs go that low here in DC. In fact the plats have been offered for lower price than SRs. The dealer said they are volume sellers so they keep very low margins. They do not add any extras.

After paying for mine yesterday and then finding this forum, I saw people mentioning the DC pricing and took a look at a couple of dealerships in DC and MD. The prices definitely seem lower on Plats and SRs. e.g.,: The dealership below has the baseline Sr for just under 32k and the platinum for an extra k
http://www.fairfaxnissan.com/new-inv...-anchor-trim-3

I also looked at the Edmunds TMV to get a general idea on what their price guarantee saving is on Maximas in general - I get about 3k in my zip code (Pittsburgh), 4k in NYC, and 7k in the DC area.

Unfortunately, I live in PA and my understanding is that bringing in cars from another state is a major PITA.

Wanted to follow up since I'm in the tail end of my negotiations and wanted to get others take on if this is a good deal.

I'm in Dallas so the prices are pretty close to each other. I was looking for a White Platinum with Charcoal Interior. I really want the interior accent lighting, not because it's a huge deal but because having this added after the fact requires the service department to take apart the center console and it was something I was considering after purchase, so figure that'd be safer. I planned to add external lighting, the rocker panels, rear diffuser, and sports spoiler down the line.

Highest price I got was 41,673 OTD for a platinum with no add ons except mats. (39221 pre-tax/titling)

Second lowest was 39733 OTD for one that had the internal lighting package, external ground lighting, and mats. (37396 pre-tax/titling)

Lowest prices were 39707 OTD for one that had the kick plates, premium spoiler, mats, splash guard. (37371 pre-tax/titling)

I'm thinking I'm going to go with the second lowest one just because it has the external lighting already installed and I want to install the sports spoiler over the premium one.

Well, scheduled to go close a deal after work. After following up with dealers and giving them a heads up that I'm going with the 39733 offer, another dealer countered with a better offer.

Pearl White, Charcoal Interior Platinum with splash guards, floor mats, illuminated kick plates, external ground lighting, interior lighting package. Also includes 2 years tire/wheel protection automatically in case anything gets scratched or damaged.

MSRP is 42330
Invoice is 39518
Their offer puts it at 37317. After TTL/other charges it comes out to 39650 OTD.

There's a guy on here that got a platinum for $410 with $0 down. Personally, that's the only way to go with leases. I think you can do better than $400/mo on an SR. Just my .02
