The reason I'm here is because the sound in my SR isn't 'rich' enough. Also, I only count 9 speakers- 3 above the front console, 2 in the driver side doors, 2 in the passenger side doors and 2 in the rear. Where are the other 2?

 

Found them. They were by the side mirrors. They look like tweeters.

 

I connected an iPod and the sound is still off. It's just loud but not a rich sound. I may want to rip the Bose system out for an aftermarket system.

 

Very happy with the Bose system in my 16 SR. My previous vehicle was a 14 Titan with the factory Rockford Fosgate system. Of the two I prefer the Bose.

 

I hate my Bose system in my 2016 Maxima SR for the following reasons
1) the lows are lacking and the mids are missing while the highs screech and overpower the system
2) There's no mids control in the stereo. leaving the music sounding dull and flat.
3) The bluetooth audio quality is ****.
4) If you try to use a USB drive for music to get around the ****ty bluetooth you cant search for music by artist/album/song making it impossible to find the song your looking for.
I wished i noticed this before buying the car, i might have made i different decision. Currently im using the aux wire connected to my phone and im thinking about talking to an audio shop to see what my options are.

 

I feel your pain. I've gotten used to the sound system but it seems like I have to adjust the settings on every song to make it sound right.

 

I love the Bose system in the '16 SR. This is much better than the Bose system I had in my '05 Mazda RX8. I'm not an expert in sound quality, but there was no bass and the mid was very un-clear in the RX8. I feel that the Maxima system is night and day better.

 

Sounds pretty good to me. Only complaint is you have to turn it up 3/4's of the way, if not more to get some power going.

 

Bose sounds ok. Had Acura MDX prior to my 2016 SR. ELS system in Acura produced better sound quality when playing Sirius and local radio. However, when plugged into digital sound (flash drive), sound was phenomenal.

 

Volume is extremely bad for this system..

0% - 50% is unbelievably quiet for both SXM and bluetooth, can't hear anything less than 20% while driving

60% - 80% is loud enough for listening, you start hearing more depth in the sound especially closer to 80%, also getting buzz/clipping unfortunately

85% - Max is too much, shrill and no bass or extreme buzzing/clipping


Bottom line is I expected a lot more for the brand name and the price of the car.. a lot more
