How to remove rear springs ??

I was all set to install my eibach springs yesterday. I got the fronts done and thought the easy part would be the rear. I have installed lowering springs on a couple different cars and never had an issue. Long story short, spent about 2 hours on the drivers side rear and couldnt get the spring out. I ran out of time and patience and had to put it back together. So now I have the front looking right and the back looking like a 4x4!

I tried removing the lca bolt, shock bolt and while this did allow the control arm to drop down, it was not enough to get the spring out. I tried using a metal pry bar and still had no luck. Is there a trick or something I am not doing. I know a couple people by now have lowered their cars. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Pics too!
