I recently tried UpRev. But returned the tuning suite as the 2016's are not yet supported. This was only made clear to me after calling to find out why I could not read the ECU. No timeline on support.

Bullydog advertises a tuner as well, but there's a member on this board with an 8th Gen that stated they are experiencing issues with compatibility. You can always contact Bullydog directly.

Yes, I searched and saw that Uprev wasn't ready yet and I read conflicting information on Bully dog. So, looks like I'm going to wait, but I got wheels in the mail.

I'll post pics once they're installed. I love this car!!!!

Frustrating.

My prior car was a 2015 VW GTi. The reflash on that car was amazing. Added 10+ mph to the trap speed of the quarter mile. I understand the tune for a normally aspirated engine is nothing like that, but I'm sure it would wake the car up a bit.

Still unable to find a tune for this car.

Might just do the Y pipe and intake for a claimed extra 20 hp. However, I'm hesitant to do this because I don't want to reduce low-midrange torque. This is my daily driver and that's where there engine spends most of it's time, below 3k rpms.

Also, I'm wondering if those mods would increase or decrease MPG. I'm thinking it would increase gas mileage, but I don't have much experience with NA engines.

My 2015 VW GTi was putting out over 300 whp, but I was able to get up to 41+ mpg on my way to work in the morning. That's about the only thing I miss about that car. This is my first Nissan and I'm very impressed by it. Great car for the money!!!!

More HPs less gas mileage.....definitely. The extra horses have to be fed. The extra power needs to be paid....not too much, the secret is to know when it's necessary to pull out the extra horses from the engine.
My 2016 Maxima SR has installed de K&N cold air Intake plus the Racingline Y pipe and I have not "feel" (placebo effect???) a significant reduction on the low-mid range torque.... au contraire....but is a feeling only, not technically documented.....new CVT with a new tune???(feels a better combo than my ex 2010 Altima SR with racingline Y pipe and Takeda cold air intake). Racingline Y pipe, claims 13 HPs & 14 ft/lbs gains (@?? rpms) and K&N 13.5 HPs@5200 rpms & torque???.
Hope these helps you a bit

I hope someone comes up w a tune for out 8th gen.

I still have my 2009 maxima SV. And the dealer did a reprogram to the Cvt and it made it much more responsive. My 2009 has more low end torque then my 2017. Plus I like the way my 09 Cvt shifts. It goes into those fake shifts much quicker. no lag.

There is a reason this thread went cold. I think it is because there are not enough potential customers to cover the expense and time to due a full bore "Tune". As suggested before, ask yourself is the Maxima really the candidate car for the "racer crowd" ? Most of us prize longevity and MPGs over MPHs.
Maybe time to trade for a Mustang or Camaro if that is the performance you want.?
