Bluetooth "Stopped" when connecting

Bluetooth "Stopped" when connecting
I have an iPhone 6s with the latest iOS and as long as I've had the Maxima, about 15 months, often when I connect my phone to stream music I get a message on the radio saying it ios "STOPPED". Sometimes if I wait in silence it will come on. Sometimes not. Sometimes if I toggle between SXM and Bluetooth it comes on.
Is there a fix for this or has anyone else seen this issue?

Same here, with my Galaxy S6. Overall, I would say that the Bluetooth suite in the Maxima is pretty weak. Connects most of the time after a handful of minutes, but it does exactly as you describe often. I have even had to stop the car, turn off the engine, open the door, and then restart the car to get a connection (this was done per the Nissan engineering directions).
As a comparison, my daughter's Honda Accord connects IMMEDIATELY when I get into the car, not 6-10 minutes later. I know it isn't likely to change going forward, but I surely wish that there would be a firmware upgrade to improve this feature.

Agreed! For a "state of the art" 2016 you'd think this would never be an issue. My 2014 Corvette Stingray and Lincoln MKX connect immediately as well.

It says 'Stopped" because its downloading your contacts in the background and so it pauses the ability to play music. Go to your settings and restrict contacts access or turn off contact download, or phone book download. I have 2012 maxima that does that exact same thing. That fixed it.
