Question about the Bose System

I'm a new Platinum owner and I'm loving the car so far. But one disappointment is the Bose sound system. I know not to expect much with SXM but CDs and CarPlay just don't have much of a dynamic range to me (using that term generically not technically). The sound is sort of dull to me. Not crisp and clear with a good high end.

I've seen some other threads on audio modding, but as I said I'm not going to do that myself and I'm not sure I want all the amps and such as it is.

So, will just replacing the speakers make much of a difference? I am NOT going to do this myself and need to find someone who can do the install. But before I go through all that, is it even worth it? Will it make a difference in the sound?

Thanks.

I find my Bose system to work great. Just gotta play with the centerpoint settings along with driver stage. I have my treble at +2 and Bass at 2 away from max. I find it has excellent separation especially when streaming amazon music.

Thanks for the reply. The system seems to work fine, but so far I'm just not thrilled with the sound. I have my treble turned up higher than that and it still doesn't have a vibrant high end. I will play some more with the centerpoint settings and the driver stage but I'm not sure if it will help.

I actually had to turn the treble down to make it of a more even distributed sound. I used to have the treble all the way up and thought the same as you but after playing with everything noticed it sounded much richer when turning it down with other changes

I skipped the Bose

I've never been a fan of Bose, so I went with the SV (no Bose). The stock audio in the SV is worse than I expected, so I'm going to a moderate aftermarket upgrade. I'm not happy to hear that you don't like the Bose, but I feel a little bit better about not getting the Bose after getting feedback that it's not spectacular.

I hear ya, Gator. It took me a while to dial in the sound as mentioned above to where I like it, but not love it. A lot of mid-level detail and adjustments are missing in this system. I have an '08 Camry that came with a stock JBL system that sounds much better and has more adjustment than this Bose system. But, again, you can get this Bose system to where you like it, but maybe not love it.

Thanks for all the replies. I am going to investigate how difficult and expensive an upgrade of the system would be. I don't know if the sound quality is due to the speakers, amp or combination of both. There is an audio shop nearby so I will explore that. I will post back with my findings.

Also disappointed in the sound

I’m also thinking of having aftermarket speakers installed. I have a 2017 Maxima and I think the sound system was better in my 2003 Murano.
