I think it is the high beltline, especially the high cowl and dashboard. You can't see the road for a long distance in front of the car, or along side the car, which makes parking more difficult. I also rely on the camera a lot more than I thought I would. If you've ever driven a Honda Accord, you notice a big difference in visibility. Like most here, though, I chose the Maxima over the Accord.

I found the visibility is pretty good during the day, and like you I have my seat up fairly high and back away from the pillars.

On the other hand, I really dislike the back and side visibility at night when it is raining. The 360 view camera gets all blurry and It seems so dark all around. The windows seem to like fogging up, and It doesn't help when a lot of areas are poorly lit to begin with, city trying to save money on street lights

I got a maxima recently and the backup sensor's doesn't chime is it normal?

What model /year max do you have? There is a way in "settings" to enable this.
