2016 had no specific cell phone integration
2017 had apple car play
2018 added android
Based on the other threads, '16 owners were able to swap out '17 headunits and gain apple car play feature pretty much in plug and play fashion.
It could be same or different with '18 head unit.
One thing is certain, Nissan will not provide new features to older cars. Shame on them.
The only things that have been updated from 2016 to 2018 is the infotainment center. If, Nissan, hands out the software patch/upgrade all the model year will be regraded the same and consumer will looking into previous gen. for deeper rebates. Thank you Nissan for this amazing marketing plot.
There seemed to valid reasons why the 2016 couldn't be upgraded to Apple carplay.. but with the 2017 having Apple car play, it should be an easy upgrade for android auto.

Ok, so I took her SD card out and it only seems it effect saved personal settings like stations and phones and the following is ghosted “info”, “Nav” and “maps” info is mostly Xm functions like movie listings and traffic so all that makes since.
xm, Bluetooth, normal radio, camera all that still works.
Any of you carplay guys willing to pull your card and tell me if your CarPlay still works? Please.
Finally getting around to looking for a 2018 unit to install in my 2017 SL w/Bose. Can anyone tell me the difference between these part numbers: 25915-9DE1A vs 25915-9DE1B vs 25915-9DE1C? I was told I needed 25915-9DE1A to make this swap plug & play. But those other part numbers seem to be from 2018 SL's with Bose as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated...
I've been having Bluetooth issues with my 2017 platinum (with Bose and carplay). I'm really thinking about swapping for a 2018 so I can use Android auto and hopefully avoid all the Bluetooth issues I've been experiencing.
Can anyone give me some insight on what part number I need to be looking for? The rest of this thread is SO helpful and scares me a lot less about the though of swapping units myself. Thanks in advance!
I used the Xanavi upgrade for my 2016. Has been working fine, I'm just impatient and it takes a few seconds for the car to switch over to CarPlay. Cost was about $300 which I sent via WhatsApp / Venmo.
Pardon the dust. Only issue I run into if you want to call it that is my parking sensor volume is always turned up to the max and it startles me. If you go down this route, don't do it over a holiday weekend otherwise you'll be stuck looking at a green screen until they sent you the license key for the upgrade.
I have never heard of Xanavi either but it seems they're the real deal. I'm in a 19 now but y'all that want Carplay & Android Auto on older models should check them out. I wish I had found this when I was in my 16 Maxima.
Here is a video I found of someone who did it for a Murano.
@realmac were you able to fix the sensor volume level loudness problem you had? I did the upgrade to my 2017SV and noticed the same issue. I ended up turning it off but haven't checked to see if it comes on again once I start the car.
@Goldpanda94 The process is pretty simple in that you download the image of the SD card from Xanavi and then write that to a SD card that you provide. The SD card flashes the head unit and then you pull the card and send Xanavi a file the head unit puts on the SD card. Xanvi uses that file to generate a license key file which he sends back to you. You write this file to the SD card and then put the SD card back into the head unit. That's it.

I didn’t figure out the issue but sold my Maxima on 10/26. That was the sole reason, j/k. I would report feedback to Xanavi. Guessing there is some system setting that is being reset everything the unit turns on rather than saved.
I emailed him again today. I didn't get a response to my follow-up in mid December so hopefully he will respond this time.
Thanks for the reply. Fingers crossed they reply soon and with a solution. I interacted briefly with them over WhatsApp and I received short dry borderline rude responses to my fair questions. I was wondering if they treat potential customers like that what will they do after they already get their money. Quiet perplexing business approach.
I did hear back from him and he did say that there would be a Beta release to test in February. That was the last I heard. I'd save your money if you haven't already bought from him.

Thanks man. Appreciate the follow up. Luckily I haven't made the order yet. I guess I'll wait some more. I'm not in a hurry.

Were you able to find a unit and swap it out? Just got a 2017 Murano SL w/Bose and looking to do the same.

I've never been good at writing essays, especially when it comes to nursing. The quantity of specialized knowledge and study that is needed can be daunting. I recently came onto a resource that was really helpful to me. I came upon <!--td {border: 1px solid #cccccc;}br {mso-data-placement:same-cell;}-->nursing essay writer , where I could find a range of nursing essay samples, while I was searching. I needed these examples in order to better grasp how to organize my papers. I heartily endorse their method of dissecting intricate subjects into easily digestible chunks to anyone in need of nursing essay assistance
I also installed this particular update, so far it's working fine.
