Build quality issues

I’m going on a year with my used 2016 S and have found build quality issues all over on this car unlike other generations I’ve had or different makes. Latest is changing out air filter and one of the clips for the air box snapped at the bend! Out of 25 yrs of different cars including older maximas, I’ve never seen that part fail. Other issues I’ve had are glued on trim coming loose (the black floating roof rear), rattled and buzzing inside from dash and windows sash in doors, hood rattle from loose bolts at hinge, and CVT juddering. Worst is the lurching from cvt while coming from a hwy speed to a stop that happens at 5-10mph mark. Anyone else seeing similar things on theirs or am I just hitting lots of little things? 41k now and considering trading this thing out. Thanks.

There are lots of threads on quality, no need to re-hash it.

I would say that your experience is not normal.

Well as my dad always says. "More stuff to break"

Seems like the more bells and whistles there are, the more little problems there will be.

I will agree on one thing, there are too many buzzes and rattles

I agree with you that there are too many sounds that shouldn't be there. In my case, there are what sounds like loud static shocks that occasionally come from the touchscreen or inside the dash, but only during certain months of the year. Also--this appeared after about a year--something makes a low hiss when I'm gently pressing on the gas and accelerating around 30-50 mph. At other times, there is some sort of tick similar to a geiger counter from somewhere inside the dash or hood when the car has been running for about a minute, but this comes and goes, possibly depending on the season. I'm not pleased with this car generally and am considering trading it when the warranty expires.

You may need to trade in if chasing these gremlins is too much trouble. How long have you had the car?, buy it new or used? How many miles on the clock? I have had cars that cost much more with at least as many problems. Not excusing the issues you are having, but perfection is difficult. Some time we get lucky and sometimes not.

I've had the car from late 2016 and bought it new. It has around 19500 miles on it. This is one of those cases where many little annoyances detract from the experience with the car. I'd overlook it more easily if I were more pleased with the rest of the car, but there are too many things about the Maxima in general that I've come to dislike. I still love the powertrain and the high-quality interior, but I can now say that the car is louder and less refined that my early impressions with it. Although a very capable highway cruiser, it is boring to drive at legal speeds. Lower trims like mine are hard to park. Most important, I find the service at my local Nissan well-nigh intolerable. For all these reasons, I plan to trade the car by the end of this year.

leased new in November/15. Currently 30K miles. Everything is A o K. Real bargain for what you get.

BTW, Canadian version of the SV.

My 2016 Platinum as built August 20, 2015 and purchased new September 18, 2015. I had a part break requiring Nissan to replace the entire panoramic roof. Other than that, not a squeak, knock, tick, rattle or anything that I have noticed. Which is good, because I will not tolerate such uncivilized noises in my car.

Amen Light! Like yours' mine has had nada of anything, not even the top (which I would have freaked out about).... well, I did find a plastic push-pin type of fastener missing under the left rear wheel well, but I replaced that with a GM one from my parts bin.
