Factory Rocker panel side skirts Beware!

Sadly I have been victimized by careless techs raising my car and cracking the extra cost rocker panel trim pieces (with the chrome strips). What they fail to do is to extended the front lift points with either rubber pads or screw out the lft entenders. Now I have front cracks and three inch missing chunks under the front of the car rocker trims. Fortunately it is not noticeable until you lay down beside the car. Really pisses me off that I would have to check for this but once it has left the dealership, you own the problem!
I wanted to reach out to any of you with this rocker trim to check your cars and be aware of what can happen. I may just use black silicone
to fill in the broken areas and call it a day since the replacement rockers are over 300 bucks not installed.

Check with a Plastic Welding specialist. Maybe they can repair it.
There is also Plastic welding kit if you want to try it

Thanks for your sensible suggestion. Unfortunately parts of the fractured rocker panels fell off before I discovered the issue so there are 3 inch gaps on each side.

Did you try doing back to the place you got it broken?

My thought is that if the parts broke off at the dealership, the tech would not want to come forward to accept resposibility. It could be that the fractured pieces fell off after the service at highway speeds. Either way, my dealer won't cover the damage. Fortunately it doesn't show while standing next to the car but it also the reason I did not detect the problem . I'm one who always does a walk around before leaving the dealership. Still missed the damage.

i had my first oil change about a month ago and the shop (not a dealer) dented the rocker panels. so, i made them buy and install the chrome accents since they covered up the damage

You are quite fortunate to have seen the damage done. Wow, sorry to hear they dented the bare rocker panels. Now that you have the additional plastic rocker trim pieces with the chrome accents, the adventure is not over! Be extra vigilant at any repair shop including Nissan dealers! There is something about the design and clearances which requires the lift operator to either add rubber blocks on top of the lifting pads or screw out the lifting pads to get that additional clearance. I am having the service writer put a sticky note on the window as a reminder. Hopefully that will help.

Just found out about this last night while doing my first oil change. I little disappointed that they could not trim under the car to avoid this issues.

Looks like there might be more of this happening than we 1st realized. My objective at first was to vent but more importantly make folks aware of this possibility of damage.
