Hands free microphone limited

Hi all,

When using the hands free option, it seems like the microphone might only be on the driver side. I can hear the person on the phone very easily in the passenger seat, but if I talk, they can't really hear me. They can easily hear my wife who's in the driver's seat. Do you have the same experience? Our Toyota is a bit different and the microphone seems to pickup from both seats.

I notice the same thing over the last 3 years. Mic must be situated for best driver experience on hands free, otherwise there would be too much background noise from the passsengers.

It's a "beam forming microphone" it's pointed at the driver.
