Celsius to Fahrenheit

Hello all, I seem to have a strange problem. I bought a used car I believe was from Canada and came from Enterprise Rental. I had to replace the SD card but matched serial number to the radio.

I cannot get the temperature controls readout to read fahrenheit no matter what. Both settings on dash and radio readout have been toggled from C to F but doesn’t affect the control panel. Outside temp is in F and car in MPH as well.

I purchased a used panel on eBay and swapped out the insides so I could have the better working buttons, and still C. Dealers around here have no idea, even called a Canadian dealership. I don’t get it

I think - and I'm not sure (sorry) - the temperature controls need to be coded (or flipped somewhere).
German cars allow for a single switch, like you noted - outside temp (and sometimes MPH > kph) - but Nissan does not (each system is "independent").

I have done exactly everything you did, so if you got it figured out I'd like to know

Nope. Nissan engineering said its impossible. My bet is you have to replace the $3000 radio.

Hi,
Did anybody ever figure this out? I'd like to know how to fix it on my Maxima.

I went thru this very same exercise but in reverse in a '16 Altima trying to have the C changed to F. The ventilation head units are preprogrammed and fixed for the country in which the vehicle will be originally sold and cannot be changed.

If I read it right MJScott22 is trying to go from C to F as well.

Easy to convert in your head, the formula is 5.8, but, if for instance if your reading is showing 12 degrees, the easy
conversion is , 2 times 12, plus 30 equals 54 degrees, every celcius reading is times 2 plus 30

Sorry to bump this old thread, and I know the consensus is it can't be changed. I have a 2017 Maxima Platinum, originally came from Canada, and and it displays the HVAC controls in Celcius.

When you say the ventilation head unit, can that be swapped out for an American part? I actually tried to change the A/C Control AMP box, but that didn't change it. I was consider changing out the control face plate, but worried that might not work either. Is there some part that CAN be swapped that affects this? What about the some previous generation fix --- cutting the extra ground wire?

Without a calculator, there are many means to convert Celsius to Fahrenheit. Multiply the Celsius temperature by 1.8 and add 32 to get the Fahrenheit conversion With this method you get the exact temperature conversion degree.
