2017 Maxima Battery Drain!!
2017 Maxima Battery Drain!!
HI all, I am having an electrical problem with my Maxima that I can't figure out. The car will sometimes refuse to start , showing signs of a dead battery. jumpstart allows it to start. I had the battery and alternator checked , both appear to be functioning properly. What could be draining the battery while it's parked? I have to get a multimeter to do some checks. Any ideas on what might be going on?
Depending on the kind of test done a battery can pass a test, but still be no good not holding a charge. If it's not under warranty, just get a new battery in there, see if that solves the problem. Some batteries last 8 years, I've had some last only 2. Last one I had lasted just under 2 years, got it replaced under warranty at the Advanced auto parts. Car did exactly what you're saying, jump it it would run fine, would even restart fine. Wait 20 minutes sitting, check voltage it was still above 12.4. Let it sit for 6 hours or more it was drained and couldn't start the car, think the voltage was dropping to around 10 or 11 (don't recall). The battery just didn't want to hold a charge anymore. If you're handy, get to the store, drop your $150 and swap the battery. Keep it clean because if it doesn't solve your problem, you can take it back...just don't scratch it up...
