Here is the situation, i just got this car from nissan dealership 3 weeks ago, about 2 weeks in, i started noticing some judder and vibration at the gas pedal and front seat when accelerating at low speeds and when the car was cruising. I took it to the nearest dealership even though i was hesista t about this being the car certified pre owned, with low mileage and with one previous owner only that had it as a personal lease.
Took it to the nearest dealership and 2 hours later they tell me they need to rebuilt the transmission and let me tell you did i almost lost it wow, i havent even made the first payment on the car and already this!! I quickly called the selling dealership because how could this be, if the car was having this problem now, imagine later, i told the GM i wanted to return the car and he advised to bring the car to his dealership to check it out and see what he could do, the other dealership was charging me $150 diagnostic fee if they werent going to do the repair which was under warranty as per the service advisor, they cold release the car to the selling dealer and this took almost 4 days they going back and forward with each other because nobody wanted to pay, i ended up just having the first dealer doing the repairs.
I also called consumer affairs to file a claim and they only want to reimburse me for the first payment in the car, which is horrible!! The least they could do is extend the gold warranty i paid for.
I havent contactes the GM from selling dealer yet but i will be doing so.
Have anyone experienced this ? What did nissan get you and what did you guys ended up doing with the car ?
I had the cvt go out on mine, after it went out of warranty. They replaced the cvt and I had to pay for the labor. Outside of this I have had no problems with my 2016 SR. While I can certainly understand your frustration, because a simple test drive would have revealed the problem, but I think the car would still be a good one.

How much did you have to pay to get the CVT replaced out of warranty?
Velar_809x... I am happy to see a Nissan dealer offering to fix your CVT transmission without giving you a run around, and claiming "They all do that. It's normal".
I know you are upset, I know I would be upset too. Imagine how more upset you would be if the dealer didn't want to repair it.
In a short time the CVT will be repaired, and you can enjoy your car.

The biggest thing I hear about nissan vehicles is they have problems with their cvt. Both my wife and I have nissan vehicles under lease. I don't know if I'd ever buy a nissan outright due to the amount of complaints I've heard/read regarding the cvt. Being a lease, our vehicles will be under warranty so I'm not worried about it, but buying a used maxima would make me super nervous.
I've had 3 nissan's with CVTs and have never had a problem. I currently own a 2013 pathfinder with almost 90k miles and had no problems with the transmission.
