The 2016 maxima I purchased in April of this year was certified preowned by the dealer. I picked it up f0r $ 23,000 with 24k miles. A few weeks after i got it I noticed that my roof liner was unravelling by the rear window. I took into the dealer and was told that the warranty for that part had expired so they could not fix it at no cost. They gave me a few options, none of which made me happy because I did not have th car for 2 weeks. I contacted Nissan USA and after further review they will be covering the cost for a new headliner, $1,200 plus . I am scheduled to take my car to the dealer next week and I am hoping that the dealership will not charge me for labor. Since they did sell me the vehicle. In the preowned cert booklet they give you the box under interior> headliner is checked of as meets standards. Again than you NISSANUSA
Our 2016 platinum had a bad headliner when we got it new under a lease. We didn't spot it until getting it home, you could see it through the front windshield it was unraveled at the corner. We got it back in during the first oil change had that and a loose fog light housing repaired.
They had to pop the front windshield to get the headliner out, was a pretty big deal. I too hope they don't charge you, because if they damage the windshield during removal it too will need to be replaced...
So I am getting my car back from the dealership today. I would like to thank Teddy Nissan in Da Bx. For looking out corporate replace the roof liner at no cost even though it was out of warranty and The dealership gave me a little break on the maintenance cost. Thanks. You both got a repeat customer!

No way in heck I would let them replace my headliner with such a little problem. That is a big, ugly job, even for a dealer to do. A screw-driver tip, a couple dabs of E6000 urethane glue and you would never know you had a problem. Estimated time to fix is about 15 min. to 30 min., using your labor, flathead screwdriver, and tube of adhesive.

Well I must sayI am really pleased with the work my Nissan dealership and Nissan coorporate did addressing my CPO Maxima concerns. I would have much rather not had to deal with it in the first place but very happy all things considered. Roofline is nice and snug. Actually made the ride feel so much more solid and definitely quieter. Sunroof and all The whistling at 100 mph is fixed along with all the Nissan connect functions. Now no more test drives @ 100
right side left side. I thought it still looks like its peeling but that is the reflection from the sun the liner is made of a foam material and I quite thick.
