Damaged rockers... again
Damaged rockers... again
Back in 2019, a tire shop crushes my rockers when putting it up on the lift to take off my snow tires. Fortunately, I noticed it and was able to get them to replace them (with some hassle, of course). Just the other day, I got a flat tire. Took it to a different tire shop. Figured I wouldn't need to tell them to be extra careful (this couldn't be the first Maxima they've worked on). In hindsight, that was a bad idea. Driver side damaged. They acknowledged the issue and said they'd make it right. The manager owns a Maxima himself so we bonded.
As a general recommendation... always tell your mechanic to be careful and block the car if needed.

Good points here. I had the same issue on my 2016 Platinum when my optional factory side rockers were crushed at the dealership. To save my 2019 from the same fate. I have their service writer examine the rockers before the car goes into the shop. I also hand him a half-page warning message ( In red) imploring the tech to extend the lift arms and use the rubber bushings so the lift arms will not break the rockers. So far so good after 4 oil changes.

are rockers what the sideskirts are officially called?
if so I was jacking my car up today the take the wheel and liner off on the driver's side to run my 1/0 awg wire and I can see how easy these would be to catch with a jack. Of course being the first time I jacked up the car I was stupid careful with everything I was doing, but I think I will mention it any time I would have to take it to someone else for maintenance for sure.

There are set of standard rockers from the factory and if your car was optioned, it could have even deeper rockers (or skirts) with a small chrome spear embedded in the rocker trim. Either way, care is the rule for anyone jacking up this car. Many have been damaged but it is hard to see without close examination bending down
