lane keeping assist

i looked over the threads but found no answers but in a maxima with the lane keeping assist, how well does it work?,,does it actually steer itself to stay in its lane or
does it use its brakes to pull the car back in its lane,,,this one of the reasons im going with a newer but wont do it if its just a useless technology
i drove a genesis with LKA and that was a joke as it didnt work 9 out of 10 times
so how well does the maxima work and is it worth switching to
thx all.

I am curious about the functionality as well- I have these features in my '20 SR and have not used them at all, I just went into the setting menus and activated them today, will give my impressions in a few days. My wife's Mazda CX- 5 has the warning function- vibrates the steering wheel, and I found it to be a bit intrusive..but as a safety function I do see the value..

In essence, the Maxima has a vibrating steering wheel which we found irritating. It was promptly shut off.

In my 2019 Platinum, it vibrates the steering wheel, and then nudges you back into your lane using the brakes. I've purposely tried to cross lanes when no traffic was present to see how it works. It's not a very quick process...just gradual. I turned it off so I didn't have to feel the vibrations and unnecessary braking while dodging potholes.

Owner's Manual excerpt for the "Intelligent Lane Intervention" or I-LI:

"The I-LI system warns the driver when the
vehicle has left the center of the traveling
lane with an indicator and a steering wheel
vibration. The system helps assist the
driver to return the vehicle to the center of
the traveling lane by applying the brakes to
the left or right wheels individually (for a
short period of time)."
