is this a 4g rollout issue?

ive read topics where people get affected by the 3g to 4g rollout but im not sure if mine is this or not'

last night my radio started up with ''nissan'' and then said ''nissan connect'' and then just went black and repeats this every 5 minutes or so.
i have no control on any button, wont turn on or off,no steering wheel controls work,no console buttons work, nothing
the reverse camera works sometimes and sometimes not,you can tell the radio is on as its not ''totally '' black.
any idea? im thinking its just a bad radio
opinions plz.

4g was rolled out December 14, 2009. You must be referring to 5g, am I correct?

My money is on you having a bad radio, otherwise we all would have the same problem you have.

Don’t listen to your audio when you’re driving … listen to your car.

Find a local shop that sells and installs car radios, they will have your answer.

The big deal is getting a radio that matches what you have. Is it a Bose unit? If so you need another Bose unit. For me, I'd try for a 2019 + head unit which would eliminate the SD card problem. It would be important to get one from a vendor that will take returns if it is not plug-and-play since the unit is a different brand than the earlier ones. Otherwise, shoot for a 2018 unit with matched SD card and return privileges. So why is it worth all the trouble to get a factory unit? For me, it is the "Bird's eye" view the 4 cameras give you when parking.that sold me on the car to begin with. You might do a search as this has been covered before with mixed results.

no,i got in it the next day and it worked perfect but i cant handle this sporadic behavior so im gonna look around for another unit or maybe an aftermarket radio that works for birds eye view and hopefully a direct fit for a bose replacement.
