Speedometer is not accurate

My 2018 Maxima sv speedometer is a little behind. At lower speeds it is accurate, but once your above about 50 it's registering 5 mph slower. And am incremental difference the faster you go. I noticed this on a road trip last weekend because the cruise control tops out at 90(why???) Any idea on calibrating speedometer? The car was in an accident on passenger front side before I got it

Check your tire sizes. Should be 245 x 18 or 19. 1st I have heard of any speedo issues for these cars.

Interesting, I have always shown on the speed odometer about 2 MPH faster then on GPS apps like Waze on both my 2016 Maxima and 2015 Pathfinder. In other words car says I am going 72, but Waze says I am going 70. I figured this 2 MPH difference was a built in option to give you a grace margin for a ticket.

My vote goes to checking the wheel sizes. If the previous owners got larger or smaller wheels than stock. That would result in an uneven difference in speeds when comparing at low speeds and high speeds. Otherwise it'd be normal for your speedo to be a little off consistantly.

That's probably it, I changed it the original tires to 235 40 18. is there a way to adjust the speedometer for different size tires?
