Limp Mode but no codes

2017 Maxima SR, 113k miles. Car will enter some sort of limp mode( engine is running but zero throttle response) when in heavy traffic. Doesnt throw any codes, but the problem resolves itself after 10-15 min. Trans and engine temp is fine, trans fluid is correct level and not degraded. Has anyone seen a similar issue? I’m leaning towards alternator issues but have no definitive answer!

Sounds like alternator is going bad. Also check your battery because if it is your alternator the battery will drain quick.

Quick cheap way to check alternator. Start your car and disconnect batt. If it dies then you will know it the alternator. You’re right, that is about a $400-$500 price tag to replace and install the alternator at a mechanic

Never disconnect the battery while the engine is running to test your alternator. This outdated method creates massive electrical surges that can destroy your car's sensitive computers and control modules.

Thanks for the heads up. That’s how I tested my last alternator. My mechanic brother in law told me to do that. Good to know. Sorry for the outdated advice.
