3 bolts in the front, 2 bolts in the back. also have to worry about lower mounting.

i would say they will not fit. do 4th gen strut bars fit a 3rd gen?

Hey, how interested would you guys be in the ability to change the damper setting from inside the car while driving? Ive got an idea and think I might make a few models and sell a few. Price would maybe be about $80 for all four corners, with each one on a switch to go hard or soft from inside the car. Price may be lower, not sure the production costs yet...but anyone interested?

adjusting it while driving is not that important to me. if you could figure out how to make the shocks more reliable (not blowing quickly) for $80 then i would be interested. i just keep all 4 on full soft and call it a year.

It wouldnt be that complex. I think it will probably just be turn ****, 1 per corner. Turn it from 1 to 4 and it turns the adjusters. Its much simpler, cheaper, lighter and works just as well...

Haha, better shocks? That would require engineering...maybe for a final exam.

Dont slam the car and get proper springs.
they blow because the springs are too stiff. shock cannot dampen it. Swtich to a softer sping and turn up the dampening

Well the top could be redrilled if need be, So how do the 4th gen mount on the bottom?

The front has a braket that has 2 bolts....the rear is a ball sorta thing that has 1 bolt....

Do you know what your talking about? The coilovers are only available in two spring rates and the softer ones are still pretty stiff. How does increasing the dampening make the shocks less prone to blowing?

proper springs? blow b/c springs are too stiff?
what would be considered proper?
and pretty much all coilovers are gonna have a stiff spring rate and they don't just blow b/c there stiff. you don't know what your talking about

i agree with you g4nismo

also ShiftVQ35, you dont know what your talking about when you say raising the car will help not blow ksport shocks. the height adjustment has nothing to do with the shocks. i agree that having a softer spring rate will help, but you NEED stiff springs with coilovers. the shocks need to be built to last, but how to accomplish that i have no idea...

So, when I order new struts, Ill have to cut these open to get a cutaway view. Then maybe we can see why they're blowing so quickly. But, I cant imagine Ksport hasn't tried to do this already...

Has anyone blown a "new" set(after the 'remake')?

Depending on when the new shocks were circulated, but I might have. I was sent a rear replacement in August of 2006 and it blew in July of 2007. But I would go by the results people are getting with the coilovers they receive today. Ok they have a one year warranty, but I bet most of them will blow after the warranty is over.

I dont know how many times they've upgraded the seals or whatever it is they upgrade..but I got a supposed "better" one, at least better than the originals. It hasn't blown on me yet KNOCK ON ****ING WOOD. I have one original left and its my rear. I cant remember how long ago I got it...let me see if i can find out.
I would like to see a correlation between sidewall size and frequency of blown shocks, I just got a larger tire/smaller wheel hoping it would relieve the shock and absorb some of the harshness on the road.
I keep my rears on full stiff and the fronts on full soft, works out decent.

edit- It looks like I replaced one of the fronts in October of last year, and then the other one blew out/replaced late January. Supposedly if you drive around on a blown one it will be more likely that your other one blows on that side (Front/back i guess) and thats what happened to me SUPPOSEDLY. so this means, if one blows and they will replace that one, they should replace both.

I wonder what they'll do if I let them know that my left two are blown? Not in warranty though, so I doubt anything...I want this 00vi in so parts for it are being bought instead of new struts... :/

I would buy new shocks instead of a intake manifold because the car rides so much different with brand new shocks. im more relaxed when i am driving. blow shocks are horrible

Ahh, its already bought. Just the RPM switch, some hoses, clamps, etc, are all I need.

Christmas time is when my new shocks will come. I only drive my car 2 days a week.

Is the nut turning in the lower mount in the rear? If it is, jam a screw driver down there or vice grip the crap out of it. then you should be able to remove the bolt. def replace the nut.

get a huge screw driver and bang the crap out of the stuck collar with a hammer

Vice Grips FTW. Rubber mallets also work well.

So, would anyone be interested in the remote damper switches?

Hopefully that helps ya out..

Getting a new car so i dont need them anymore . Id like to get at least $900 seeing as i paid $1200 for em brand new and they still pretty much are brand new. Sorry to post this here !!! didnt know what else to do....

G4nismo, the thread got merged with this one, IIRC.

Raffe, you best bet is to make 15 posts, and then post in the FS forum.

That's accurate Raffe74.

MOHF don't adjust the height without take the stur off the car and loosening the collars. it well mess up the preload i think.
