3.5 tb or q45 tb on a 2000 max

Would you get noticible gains with the 3.5 tb or should I go with a larger tb, lets say a q45 tb? Also, if the 3.5 is worth it, how would you by pass the electronic drive by wire?

Whats the stock size of the VQ30 tb? I know the Q45 tb is 90 mm... and is it possible to mount on of these on a VQ30?

Drive-by-wire is probably easy to remove and attach older 5th/4th gen TB spool.

IACV is the problem and probably TPS.

It would be easier to use a non drive by wire 3.5 throttle body from a Pathfinder.

But what year I been scouring for a clear definate answer but never is a year given hehehe. I think it's the 2001 Pathfinder VQ35 TB that works on the Max's VQ35 IM isn't it? Also isn't clear yet if it's a direct bolt on or if adapter plates are needed.

2001 3.5L Pathfinder (>08/00). You'll need an adapter plate for a DE, DE-K, or MEVI.

No, the 00-01 needs a differ adapter plate for the Pathy TB than the 4th gens.

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply the plate was the same for DE, DE-K, or MEVI... just that you'd need "a plate" to fit the TB on any of those manifolds.

does anyone have an idea of what kinda gains it might produce and also if i were planning on doing turbo to my car in the future would that be a problem being it would have more intake air flow?

a larger TB 70mm (3.5L) would only be beneficial to a turbo/sc setup

more air into the engine + more fuel = more power.

now imagine how much air would flow at a time through a 60mm tb and then a 70mm tb.

but using a q45 tb will ruin your engine responce because of flow. air flows faster through a smaller diameter hose than a larger one (physics) if you go too big air will flow very slow (vq30 engine vacuum is not like a 4.5L v8 vacuum) and you won't be putting more air into the engine

with a PF tb or vq35 tb you will increase engine responce.
