SMT6 for cheap

so I know a guy that is selling an SMT6 for really cheap brand new for $300...my question is, since there is no official support for a maxima....would it be impossible to get support in wiring it up and getting it to actually advance timing and such?

Ive had the SMT6 working for over a year now, it works on the '95~'99s. But I have yet to run one on a 5th gen. It should work cause it uses the same signals but the ECU may give you more trouble.

Me and 98SEBlackMax have the same crank signal filter.

IMO it should be fine on all VQ30 crank sensors, ecu should be cool with it.

the '00~'01 ECUs may not accept the crank advance, whos knows until someone trys. But as of right now im limited to +10 advance on the '96 ECU, anymore and it throws a 0101 cam sensor code.

well, I live in socal, so our hot weather combined with only 91 octane being available mean +10 degrees advance is a ton...I would think I could still gain about 10-12whp with +10 advance

I cant advance that high, my car starts to knock. Plus I am pulling some fuel so that indirectly advanced the time as well.
