Chris are you sure it's the injectors and not the wiring? It's very easy to mix up the wires going to the back rail (although you didn't say which ones they were). You can test the injectors for sure by applying a quick voltage pulse directly off the battery, if the click is heard and the solenoid moves then they're probably fine.

BTW, I got your last PM but sorry I wasn't able to help you more with the hoses, I just wasn't home the last 2 nights to be able to diagram something for you (and I'm typing this from work right now) but looks like you've got it sorted out with the help of the others here, so that's good. Pretty soon you'll be ripping down the track to a new PB..

to answer your question.. everything will be the same except if you kept egr.. then the blue needs to go to a vacuum source on the UIM (any as long as its vacuum).. and purple depends on if you are using 4G or 5G.. if 4G then you dont put the purple together you connect that vacuum hose from the vacuum galery (under the TB) to a nipple on the bottom side of the 4G TB (which is behind the butterfly).. if that makes sense..

dan we took the UIM manifold off and unplugged the fuel rail and let it sit over the LIM. suspected this was the problem so when i turned the ignition to start up the max, all were spraying just two stuck, so it was kinda a visual inspection from what i understand.

wiring was good.

man i tell ya, when the old chariot came back to life it was like that lighting strike and frankenstein letting out a low roar ! LOL !

those are the ones im using now, pulled the fuel rail off the vq30de-k and the other parts for the swap.

i have been trying to locate another fuel rail with injectors or just 2 injectors. Called Nissan on a price for just 2 new injectors for vq30de-k, price $381.00 each ! First used price I got was $95 each. So going to have to search harder.

Is there a good way to unclog these ? Or would that be taking a chance on them not functioning properly ?

I never heard of people trying to unclog them. Just keep looking for some used fuel injectors. I'm sure you will find them very very soon.

Send them (all) to DeatschWerks for cleaning, something like $16 each IIRC. A good investment. What you've got happens to used injectors after they've been left sitting around too long. And they're really quick on the turnaround.

Will an ultrasonic cleaner work? Good machine shop or quality performance shop should have one.
Glad you got things lined out.

Check some of the shops there in NZ; they'll know who does injector cleaning.

sorry chillin, see the diagram for #7 3/16" nipple and how the hose goes to top nipple leading into evap cannister, and then the photo below it. is that the proper routing to #4 on UIM? double checking.

took some time off but replaced injectors today (had two clogged ones), max cranks and idles pretty close to normal. had check engine light on, checked it and keep getting 0505, lol which makes no sense at all.

exhaust blows out some smoke if you rev it hard, suppose thats from the rich condition, nothing blue or anything just unburnt fuel guessing, lol !

so will be cleaning up engine bay and mounting some things, then doing some test driving soon.

other notes:

- The throttle wire sure is short with this new setup, hard to get any play in it.
- Car idles pretty good but does seem to have a gurgle once in awhile, seems like it always was like that not sure, maybe a bit more noticeable now.

- service engine light is on but only reads 05 05 ?

- seem to have stripped the two short screws that bolt the 00VI in the front middle section. any ideas on a fix, the fit is still quite tight to the LIM with those two being weak links.

- anyone ever notice any light white smoke coming from up under the UIM when doing the swap. it finally went away when letting the engine continue to run. guessing it was oil or something?

dandymax where are you dude ?

that's strange that you keep getting an engine light for 0505. Reset and hope it doesn't come back.

Try using throttle bottle cleaner where you have the two stripped bolts. If there is a change in the engine noise or the rpms fluctuate, then your going to have to do something to fix those stripped bolts. That's all I can think.

speed more than likely its striped in the LIM and not the bolts themselves ? will need to take a closer look. might be able to figure something out today.

If its spinning in itself or just crossthreaded really bad, most likely the threads in the LIM are stripped...

going to recheck them today, the two im talking about are snug but not as tight as the rest. UIM sits pretty tight though.

does everyone elses IACV make more air like noise with the swap ?
