TPS mystery
Even on the same year (1995) there are two different TPS - one with one plug (3 wires) and one with two plugs (6 wires). From what I have seen from the wiring diagrams it appears that the one with one plug is for MT cars and the 3 extra wires on the 2-plug TPS are for the AT computer.
But it appears one of the two plugs on the AT TPS (what I have now) is the same as the plug on the MT TPS. So what happens if I run an AT TPS with a 5-speed ECU? Will it do its job just fine? I would simply leave the second plug unplugged.
And what about with the EU? I know the coolant temp sensor has to be from a VQ30DE and not a VQ30DE-K, is the EU similarly picky about the TPS?

The second plug is the WOT plug. I have a 96 MT and have both plugs.
As for the EU, you can use the DEK coolant temp sensor but you will need to change one of the jumpers. Cant remember what one though

Yes, it's true, only early 95's have the one TPS plugs. The later models with the 2 plugs also comes with the electronic EVAP equipments. Basically, the earliest 95 with the canister EVAP and 1 TPS plug is the least prone to EGR modifications and 3.5 swap problems.

I'm pretty sure the early production 95's are of Nov and before. You're just right in the new prodction ones.
I can be wrong, because this discussion was brought up before in the 4th gen forums, and I was proven wrong. But my generalization is majorly accurate.

Mine's a fed spec 95 with one TPS, not WOT switch. My brother's also a fed spec 95, but he has both TPS and WOT swtich.
We got 3 95 maximas, 1 96 maxima, and 1 97 maxima. I have the only car without the WOT switch. It's been covered, but I think we are back to the grey area that we're not sure which ones are which.

Nobody can claim they know why certain MT's have two plugs. Everytime somebody gives a reason some odd production car comes up. maybe they were wishy washy at the factory on some days and ran out of single plug MT TPS's. I don't know and it doesn't matter. I ended up cutting the second plug off my harness. Originally, I was auto with a production date of 6/94 and ECU date of 3/94. Still had two plugs. I don't think it matters if you're MT. It'd be nice to use the OEM WOT as a nitrous WOT switch.
From my experience this works well. Just finished doing a DE-K swap into Tyrex's max with this method. DE-K came out of an auto '01 and had two plugs.
