Anyone got any good 350Z UTEC links? I need to do some reading...
Just head over to my350z and hit the tuning section. Lots of good info, there are some awesome tuners on my350z. If you live next to any of them I would certainly check them out. I can answer most questions in regards to it working on a A34 ECU from my trail and error testings.

I went out first and tried no advance, +10, +15, and +20 and got worse results than Dave did. I believe my ks is toast because it is reacting the same way it did a couple of years ago on my 2k2 with the ks disconnected.

Then I came home and dug out a 470k ohm resistor for the ks and went out again. This is with 15 deg added but I also tried 10 and 20. At +20 added I had to shut it down the knock was very evident which is strange because I have ran +20 added which resulted in +41-43 total on the old A32 ECU with no knock.

So it appears as though the ks is pulling the timing but I will do a little more testing after I get another ks and maybe try desensitizing it to try and get a better picture of how it is reacting.

So now that I know I didn't mess up by swapping the ECU I will start tuning and hopefully make it to track this weekend. 35 deg was the optimum I found last year on the A32 ECU so I'm assuming it will be the same with the A33b.
Jim, where are you able to run 35 degrees of timing? My conservative base map of 23 was considered aggressive in areas and low(by 3 degrees or so)in others. No one I see with a Z is running anywhere close to 30 degrees let alone 35. Could it be differences in ECU's?

My timing is close to 35* @ 6500+. It depends on RPM.

That's sort of where this thread is heading now.

Yeah mine gets really high too. 30-35 at very high revs.

Are you guys running mid 20's in the lower rpms? I see most people starting in the mid 20's and moving to lower 20's around 4-5k and then going back up.

Depends on throttle POS. I will take logs later today and post the curves.

Thanks Nmex, I'm pretty much sticking with WOT tuning because quite frankly I haven't the slightest as to how to tune at partial throttle. From what I've seen the ecu uses slightly higher timing at part throttle.
