This might help, I do not have it anymore but you get the idea.
That's going to help me check if the TB is correctly assembled.

Thanks a bunch.

The to do list for today:

1- Installing both Axle - Done deal
2- Hooking the remaining vacuum. I'm half way thrue
3- Finishing to install the evap hoses. I didn't had the time to touch this
4- Welding the Battery relocation bracket Working on this today.

I've been thinking about the best place to pass the battery cable, inside the car seem the best place but, I'm not absolutely sure, I also tough about tie-ing it underneath the car, I can use some thick shrink-wrap to protect the cable from rock or anything that can hit it but what do you guys think ?

What gauge is the wire? 4 or 2? I would not run 2 inside the car since it will bulge in the carpet.

You can easily run 4 though.

If it's bigger than a dime I would run under the car, it should still be safe there, just follow the fuel/brake lines or tuck it in where SFC's would go

This is exactly what I tought, I'm going to get some thick shrink wrap and wrap the battery cable, this will give an extra layer of protection in any eventuality. I'm going to the welding shop and ask my friend Nick to make a solid frame for the battery box, I dont like the idea of having only 2 rod to hold the battery box. I should be able to finish this today. At this point I need to finish the vacuum, the evap box hoses diagram and the exhaust.

Battery cable is done but I need to finish that battery box frame. Kyle has ship the EU cable so I'm waiting to get it in the next few days. I recently bought a country house so this just add up to the long list of things I have to take care. lol I will be dedicating my next week-end to try to finish the cars. That's it for now.

My friend Louis is going to help me this coming saturday and possibly sunday, I also want to hire a Maxima freak that would have to come over and help us so we can really advance this project, I kow there a few locals that have followed the thread, VQ'ed, 97 Roadrunner and few others. That would be cool if anyone is available for saturday, so please contact me as soon as y I dont ou can. I dont have the EU cable yet so I dont think we
can do the EU set-up this week-end, unless I receive the cable tomorrow or friday. On the other hand I think it's possible to crank the DEK sometime
over the next week-end but for this we need to be 3 guys.

I mean if I would have had help that car would be ready by now, but being what it is I have to be patient and everything will come along one day or another.

I might stay in town this week-end so I will have sometime to work on the car. I want to finish the black box hoses, the battery relocation frame to hold the battery box and the last few vacuum hoses, if I can do this over the week-end, then I will only have the EU wiring and the exhaust to finish.

Well it sounds like you're pretty close to finished, then. I'm sure it's frustrating to be so close but so busy you can't get it done.

Good luck man and I'm sure it'll be worth the wait.

It is frustrating sometime but I just cant spend all my time on my hobby, I have to give a bit of my time for family stuff, which is all good. Hopefully this week-end I can do a good amount of the left work, I'm trying to have my friend to come over and give a hand will see how it goes. In my original naive plan, I tough that the car would be finished and re-painted at that time but that aspect will have to wait until next winter.

Hey guys, I'm taking 10 days off starting next friday so I plan on finishing the car during that break. I'm ordering all the remaining things I need over this week-end. I'll be spending pretty much my day tomorrow working on the car. I have drop the FSTB and hood hinge to the chrome shop, they will black chromed the bar and the part that bolt to the shock tower the bolts will be standard show chromed. I want to finish the vacuum and the black box this week-end. At this point I'm missing some of the exhaust parts, like the cattman fast cat, some mandrel bend etc. I need to order the 2 radiator motor fan and the fan shroud, the stocke look like crap. I also have to order the tranny & oil cooler, I thought I had those 2 order like a month ago but checking with the supplier apparently my order never went true. Thats about it for now but will be posting new pics tomorrow.

Only 4 days left to work before I'm all over the car. I will spend most of my time off working on the car, I'm delaying the basement renovation to fall so it give me a chance to finish the car and hopefully drive it during this summer. Yesterday I have order the missing exhaust parts beside the high flow cat. I also ordered a new fan shroud with both motors. I had the time to work a bit on the car Saturday, I mostly fix small thing here & there

It's hard to tell but that hose looks like the hose the goes from the manifold to the brake booster.

Look like you nail it ! When I first tried to hook up the hose to the manifold I broke the nipple but nothing that epoxy couldn't fixed. Thanks.

The good news is the engine bay is almost completed, I worked in the garage until 3:00 am yesterday. I have the 2 radiators fan wire that need to be extended and 2 ground to connect, the radiator is installed with the fan shroud, I need to get the radiator hoses today. I'm going to order the tranny & engine cooler today. I will try to solve that evap box puzzle today or tomorrow. It's going to be one of the most challenging thing that left to be done on the car, but I found a very good diagram in the FSM and just need to bring the laptop under the car so I can see the diagram at all time. It look like I may be able to crank her thursday or friday maybe. BTW I'd like to thank Kyle for the EU cable he just did for me, this alone is going to save me so much work that I cant be thankful enough to Kyle. I'll post the latest pics later today.

I'm thinking the next few thing I need to hook up on the car. One of them being the hose that goes from the rack & pignion, ( I guess it should connect to the power steering container) I looked in the FSM but the diagram doesn't show how the hoses are connected.
I though some hose where were routed close to the radiator... anyway I'll do a little more search.

Sorry for haven't post earlier, but my mac laptop died about 10 days ago and all my login & password were stored in the mac.

This morning I ordered a kit from a local Nissan dealer, this kit include all the hoses and clip etc, it cost less than buying in separate part. This will allow me to hook the rack & pignon to the power steering fluid container and close the loop. Total cost came top 491$ CDN + taxes ( this price included a 15% discount ), it's a little pricey but I had no other way to know how to hook all that crap. I could have made custom hoses but I didn't want to guess on that aspect.

Once I get the kit I will post the Nissan part number in hope that it can help others.

I'm getting close to " D day ", I now have the diagram for the black box, I just need to jack up the car, get underneath with my PC laptop and finish that crap. Once this is done I'm going to put the Cattman cat-back with the Fast cat & only one muffler, once the engine is running fine I will weld the piping for the second muffler.

I was told to set-up the EU and wide band o2 and then start the engine, I'm trying to find a local guys that know a thing or two with EU, otherwise I know I will have to spend hours to read all the stuff about it and that will take a good chunk of time cuz I have never work with that stuff before.

I will post new pics later as I have to re start my computer now...

Lord have mercy that is a nice engine bay. I like that blue, what is that Royal Blue metallic or something. Good grief If I had my engine like that. I would be happy. Nice job.

There is a complete writeup for the EU setup and tuning on VQpower.com, go to How To's, 5th gen section, click the link for PDF. Initial parameter setup is very easy, good luck, can't wait for updates!

I have order some nice black braided sleeve that is meant for covering the wire in the engine bay, it is very resistant to heat and make your engine bay look really good.

I'll post a pic or two tomorrow.

Thanks for the nice comments. It's been 41 months since my max is in the garage, I cant tell you how anxious I am to start the engine again, that will probably take another months before I can do that. I dont have much left to be done, it's mostly small things that need to be fixed. Like yesterday I had to extend both motor fan cable, it took me about 1 hour 1/2 to do it. Tonight I'll try to finish to hook up the few vacuum hose that has not been taken car yet. The main thing is to finish the battery box frame since the battery is relocated in the trunck, the cable is all done and fixed, then I need to spend a day figuring how to hook-up the evap box hoses since the black box was relocated. Before starting the EU wiring, gauge, o2 wide band and what not I want to finish all the standard stuff. The supercharger and related stuff will be done next winter after the car is re-painted and ready to roll. This project is taking quite sometime to finish but once done this will be a unique car that is very well preserve.

It looks better in the engine bay than I thought it would. Good job. Only thing that will make it better is a wire tuck. But it doesnt even need that.

A good chunk of money, I dont like to talk about it publicly, since there are so many people struggling with food, jobs healthcare etc. Let say the engine alone cost 10-15K.
