looks SICK. epic car, RWD Tegs and Civics get alot of attention but this thing is gonna haul *** when its done.

i'm gonna be what seems to be the odd guy out and say LS1 swaps and swaps like it are a defacement to the car, if you want a domestic engine get a domestic car. people seem to be fine with LS1 in a 240z but put a RB26 in a Camaro and you would have your nuts chopped off. i hate the people who put a V8 in a 240z, and take off the Datsun and Z badges like theyre embarassed about having a import and they just want them because theyre light i have yet to see someone do a swap like that locally.

once again props on the RB26 swap, gonna be t1ts on the first startup

I like what you said and its true, imports already get a lot of s**t from the domestic guys so why give them another reason to do so.!!!!

Eager to see the outcome!!

Though those wheels are nice, I would suggest Enkei RPF1's since i presume this is going to be a track car They're priced well and lightweight. Goodluck bro!

If you wanted a Skyline why don’t you go out and buy one instead of doing all the work to put an RB into a maxima??

Your not making any sense. And even more so, why would you replace a Torque monster V8 in a F body with a Smaller displacement boosted RB series motor?? Of course that would get massive flamage, it makes no sense whatsoever! This isn’t Tokyo drift man, no one in their right mind will ever do something that retarded…

And who takes badges off a car because they are embarrassed of the make? I have a 71 datsun 510 and I debadged the entire car…mostly because im sick of fanboys that say “hey nice 510” only because they see it badged on the car…lol…without the badging 99% of people have no idea what kinda car it is…and I would like to keep it that way… that and because badges just look ugly on any car IMO…

I agree with the idea that Hybrid setups aren’t my cup-o-tea. But the main idea, is making a functional setup. Im a firm believer in the aspect of function over form. No specific brand or make of a car/engine will ever deter me from the reality that whatever works best will and should be used (If it is feasible). The main reason LS1 through LSX engines are so popular is because they are VERY well built motors, they are very light, and provide a plethora of naturally aspirated power. God forbid you start breaking down a cost comparison between the two…

But like I said, Im not talking smack.. Just providing as aspect of reality to the situation…Cause no matter what motor you use…the way the car performs is what will be telling the story NOT the manufacturer of the motor.

but even the round Z badges on the outer pillar? anyone proud to own a Z would keep those, but everyone who puts LS1 in and muscles their Z removes them. ive seen idiots swap V8 into a 240z, and remove the stock headlights for pop-ups like a old school Corvette, why not just get a Corvette then and RB26 in a Max isnt that far off from SR20 swapping in a 240sx, the Max just takes a bit more custom fabrication. People RB26 swap their GTS-T Skylines all the time here too, makes it custom

Just a suggestion, but I think you guys should move this convo to offtopic or PM and not clutter up this kid's build thread. I can see this getting way out of hand.

well the reason is there is no way to regester a skyline in the US cause it was not released in the US I see you live in CA also and if you haven't heard the cops have been inpounding the skylined that have been running around out here because there is no vin for them, what the guys have been doing is getting the vins from the 240 and using it to regester the skyline here. The R35 id different because it was released In the US. But we can talk about this all day. I WANTED TO BE DIFFERENT THAT'S WHY I DID IT

Since you're now going OT Maxxkid, let me ask you a question. With the skyline engine in your Max, will you be able to pass emissions/inspections etc in your state legally and get your registration sticker no problem??

I know what you mean, and i personally still like everything shaved...but then again i am not a big Z guy...i have driven in a z with a small block 350 and boy was THAT fun...totally changed my perception on the opinion i used to have (that wasnt too far off what your talking about now )

Its funny because the PO of my dime had shaved the classic vents on the rear quarter panel/C pillar things. I personally dont really like it but it does give my car a different type of look...not my choice but it has grown on me...

Yea i was being facetious about the skyline comment. And dont get me wrong, im still jockin your setup..I think its always nice to bring up ideas so that they can be discussed. I could tell you all day what "I would have done" but then again, your the one doing it haha...i just like to "brainstorm"

Afterall this is a very abstract project with NUMEROUS alternatives...

+1 on this I was never a big fan of the skyline front bumper lol...maybe get the ionic CF lip kit to match your hood? *hint* *Hint* lol

Good job man, I would get rid of those m3 fenders put stock bumper back on do a front lip, and some rpf1's with really sticky tires in the rear.

perhaps a 35offset in the front 17x8 and a 30 in the rear 17x9.

The offsets we are now familiar with for the maxima arent going to really "apply" to his setup due to him having to replace the entire rear suspension. I dont know if this will allow for more (or less) offset, wheel width, etc.

One thing to remember IS the fact that you can now adjust camber and toe due to the new suspension, so if the setup allows to run more aggressive wheels, you COULD possible get down on some Chunky rear wheels, i would imaging you could run something wider than 9" wheels depending on how everything was done suspension-wise...

My vote goes for some Work Meisters (19s) super wide with massive gangster stretch hehe

I dont like spacers either unless its something really small...even then, your better off getting wheels with proper offsets...Just voicing some possible options hehe

Wheels can still sit flush without being insanely stretched.
Im with bigleman, I think the stretched look is horrible.

I like the idea of the swap, and that its possible with enough funds...

But I'm not feeling the body kit nor the grill... I would of done just a simple stillen kit and some very nice rims. But thats just me...

Keep up the good work
