so you shipped your maxima to mckinny in Ca ?

why would you do that when all they do is make mounts , you had a wiring issue with the coil packs , sounds like your mechanics in NY dont know crap , theres pleanty of shops in the tri-state that could have that thing running..

something dont added up to me , i dont see why mckinny is involeded...

I can name shops I deal with that would have gotten teh car running close to you

Mckinney makes really good stuff, not cheap tho!

I am rockin their Tranny Crossmember on my 510 and their hockey puck polly motor mounts. Great guys to deal with from my experience.

So did you MOVE the car? or did you move to cali completely?? If you did i need to check this thing out in person! haha

Damnit. Just found this thread, read all 17 pages... REALLY want some closure on it! Looks like an impressive build, I want to see if he got all the structural bugs worked out... sounds like he is still messing with engine issues tho.

What say you, man with seemingly endless pocket depth? Seriously, I'd like to know how much this project is setting you back. Probably could've gotten you almost halfway to a pretty new GT-R... But of course this is incredibly unique. I look forward to seeing the finished product for sure!

if it was just a wiring issue , I have ppl down here that would have flown to NY to you and done the job right.

but shipping across country is a bit extreme , theres a few ppl on the east coast that could have tackle this issue.

good luck , McKinney is a awesome place and like always you PAY to PLAY !

+1. I think confusion arose from the OP's profile. He had NY listed, even tho he works/currently lives in CA.

I am curious tho, why are you starting over? Was it a wiring nightmare? I hope you didn't start back from square one, it looks like you had quite a bit of stuff done for the swap...

ok so I am out on sunday but let me clear up some things. 1. I am starting from ground up same car same engine it will be better engineered better balanced cause as of now 65% of the weight is at the front of the car, eletricial is all jacked up name it it went wrong, so i took it to guys that deal with nissan only so..... and if you guys want to know yes it will cost a grip to have it done so i need to go back to work hehe lol. i am in the sandiego area in Cali but home is Ny when the car is done it will be on the first truck back to ny hint at the end of the project it will be a 2.7 /maybe 2.8 twin turbo. So hopefully i can holla at you guys from the ship see you guys in 6 months.

Sounds good dude. Do it right, take your time. Definitely not a project to rush, by any stretch of the word. Good luck, hope your time at sea goes well!

I'm glad to see you finally pulled the car from the last shop. IMO, this project was way beyond their skill level. McKinney is 10 minutes from my house......just might have to go check this out in person. I bought aftercooler piping from them a while back. Seemed like knowledgeable guys when I threw a few questions at them...

Wait this maybe a noob question, i though all rb26 engines are awd and rb25 is rwd which is why rb25 are swapped in 240's. And yet this says rb26 and some one told me that it was rwd?

the Skyline R32 GTS-4 could go from RWD to AWD with the push of the button and didnt have RB26. IIRC they were RB25

on R32 GTR with the RB26 you just have to pull a fuse and you get RWD

r32's only came with rb20 and r32 gtr's came with awd and an rb26...and to make rwd rb26 you just need an rb20(weaker)/25 tranny

It doesn't matter what the engine is was used for (FWD/RWD/AWD) it matters what tranny and diff it is matted to

You need rb25/z32 trans to hold the power. you have to do some oil pan modification on the rb26 also if you convert it to rwd. A buddy did it in his s14. harness shouldn't be to crazy... ask a favor from wiringspecialties.com? haha
