need some help/info

i have a vq in my sentra spec-v shell. there is a discussion going on and a member is trying to decide either a turbo qr or a vq swap.

have there been a lot of issues w/ the vq out of the factory?

the qr, had soo many issues since its production in 02 and most of them have been worked out but still people every here and there will get a bad one or one that fails eventually.

so from a reliability stand point, what can you add about the vq.

i don't see how a person or people can say the vq is crap in reliability when its been in the top 10 of motors for a long time.

who said it's crap for reliablity, especially compared to a turbo QR?

the one common problem that comes to mind with vq35s was oil consumption on some motors.

No recalls, just burning in some motors like Neal said. The burning issue is range-wide from the altima to the FX35 (and everything in between); not specific to one configuration. All you can do is hope you got a good one OR re-ring the motor.
