Is Uprev the only thing that would work as a replacement to the Utec? What about Haltech even though the price of it is so much higher.

That's another option, but as you said it will be costly. I could do a Greddy Blue, and a V-Manage as well. However the most viable options that would be perfect for feature packed would be the Haltech, Osiris, and (supposedly) this UTEC. I think however the UTEC is very much geared towards FI cars.

You'll need to run a 04+ ecu to use Osiris the 95-03 ecu's do not have enough memory. I have this system on my G35 and have been kicking around the idea of a full 04 maxima or 350Z ecu 3.5swap in my 4gen so I can use Osiris in that too

I've been having this problem constantly since the first day I installed my first UTEC. I have tried over 3 different UTECs too. So I have to tune my fuel every month or so if I want to keep it reasonable.

The only good thing about this system is that when you tell it to run a certain ignition timing, it runs it!
That sucks but practice makes perfect!

I've been following the progress since the 1st post and it sounds like you are going about the whole process correctly.

I have some experience with engine builds/ecu mods as I fully built my 97' eclipse 420A into a 400+ HP turbocharged monster. After 1 year and 16k+ down the drain i sold it due to reliability issues. I hope you have better support than I do!

I'm looking forward to hearing how your able to resolve your current concerns.

So, did you use a UTEC, or was that just a random post?

Horrible. 2.3's It's all street prepped. No weight removed and on 19" street tires. I need to get some lightweight wheels and drag radials.

Just bought a house so I might not be able to until I get settled in, also that day was the last day for TNT here so I might have to go some where else with different track conditions.

Might be off topic but what is stopping users to swap over to an 04+ecu on the 5.5 gen?
BTW do you mind posting a pic of your fuel corrections tables? Just out of curiosity.

Nice job so far....from the video, it almost looked like the Civic had caught up but then when the times posted, he was nowhere close....if you pulled a 2.3 on that run, then a better 60' would put you where, around 13.6/13.7s perhaps?

Keep up the good work...have fun finding time for anything once you start moving in (one of the spare bedrooms still had stuff boxed up after a year!)

agreed fully built 3.5 should easy be in the 12s. the 60' isnt THAT bad, but even if he got a 1.8 on slicks this is only a mid 13 sec car, hopefully a good tune will yield some good power, as the trap isnt that good either. either way props on a nice build...

A tune is the key to his power, considering timing/rev limit have not been optimized for those cams.

That's what I'm hoping for, is that my timing chain skipped teeth. It would solve alot of unanswered issues for me right now, and more then likely be done with the car at that point.

I just moved out last weekend, and living out of a suitcase for the next 4 months till my house is finished being built will be no fun. The car should go into Matt's garage in the next couple of weeks so he can tear it down again and realign the timing chain, then back on the tune. We'll hope to see what happens here shortly. Haven't thrown in the towel quite yet, but have been very close to. arrrgh!

Cam timing over advanced, Misfire in cylinder 2 I believe (coil I assume), o2 sensor (doesn't like E85 I'm guessing, or Sim is dead), don't remember the last one, I need to read it again with the Cipher.

I had a question regarding the utec. Where is yours mounted? Reason being is the actual body of the utec grounded as well as the ground wire on that molex connector?

Pics are in this thread. I'll have to check on the grounding of the body though. I don't recall, as I didn't install this myself and haven't followed the ground wire.

P0021 or p0011

Check the vtc solenoids first...if its not those then be ready to take that timing cover off

I want to say P0021, but I'll have to confirm that again as well.

I actually used the VTC Solenoids off my original motor when there were no codes for timing, so I'm almost positive that it's still in working order.
