z32 maf

I have a z32 maf that a friend gave me that it was laying around in his shed. I figure I wanna see what I can do with it. I have read before saying its worthless having it if not on boost. Now I wanna know if thats true or not. I wanna know if I can install it on my 4th gen. I know how to wire it up but I dont wanna waste my time if there is no gain to it. I have a 00vi, y pipe, sp1 catback exhaust, gutted cat and vafc. What do you guys think?
